    Do I need a new TV? (Skyrim Special Edition and new Xbox One S


    With the announcement of Skyrim special edition, this made me suddenly become obsessed with FINALLY upgrading to a 4k technology TV, and/OR getting an Xbox One S, so that I can experience the Special Edition to the fullest, but... Is it necessary?
    I currently own a 55" Samsung 1080p HDTV and have just been enjoying my Xbox Day One edition, and games, on it. Skyrim special edition, Xbox One S, and project Scorpio are all in the works. As a strictly console player, where does everybody suggest I take
    steps towards upgrading?

    1.) Will Skyrim Special Edition look just as nice on a NON 4k TV (standard 1080p HDTV)?

    2.) Would the HDR capabilities of the new Xbox One S impact the visuals of Skyrim Special Edition, thus, making it a good idea to buy and Xbox One S, for this experience?

    3.) If I bought an Xbox One S mainly for the best possible visuals for Skyrim Special Edition.... Do I have to be using a 4k TV to see the HDR?

    3. Yes you will need a 4k HDR tv to enjoy HDR, I dont think they have released non 4k tv's with HDR

    Not sure if you can't play 4k Games on Xbox one S, only movies...

    I'm also curious about the xbox one s, i have a standard 1080p hdtv will it still be usable if its not on a 4k tv?

    Hello. You need 4K TV . For me, for now, Full HTV is super ok.

    I know there are 1080p tv's out there with hdr technology after numerous videos on televisions that I've watched to find the right 4k tv for me. Though if you do get a 4k tv, then in some ways your future proofing yourself. Though if your buying one just
    for one game then I don't know.

    I actually already have my eyes set on what 4k tv I'm upgrading to next year to be used for my consoles and movies I watch.

    Does anyone really NEED a new TV? Lol. I'm sure watching UHD movies will look better on the 55" Samsung, so you may WANT one. ;-)

    I'm going to wait for the Scorpio before possibly buying a 4k; and then there has to be a game that catches my eye.
