  2. The HDMI cable that comes with the Xbox one S is it 4k capable ?

Hi, I got this from Microsoft... If you have upgraded from an HDTV to 4K UHD TV, you may need to upgrade your cable as well. Getting all those 4K UHD pixels from your Xbox One S to your TV requires use of a High Speed HDMI cable. Xbox One consoles have all
shipped with a High Speed HDMI cable, including Xbox One S. ..Hope that helps.

    Xbox One S Question

Do you need a 4K TV to use the Xbox One S? I only have HDMI (basic hd) and might want to get one in a few months.

  4. Do I need a 4K cable TV to use the Xbox One s system

The Xbox One requires at least a 720p HDTV or monitor for display.

Basically, if the TV has an HDMI port, your Xbox One S
should work just fine on it.

For me, I'm running my Xbox One S on a standard 1080p TV without a problem.

All the talk about 4K is just an extra feature that the Xbox One S supports; if you have a 4K HDTV, the Xbox One S will be able to upscale the content to 4K resolution. It's not necessarily required to have
4K, but it sure would be nice.

Hdmi cabel that comes with console xbox one s 1tb can it handle 4K UHD-material at 60 hertz?

The HDMI cable that comes with the Xbox One S supports 4K@60Hz.

I've got an Xbox One S as well. I'm using the included cable with my 4K TV, and it all works fine.

The Xbox One S is advertised for 4K output. They'd better include a 4K-compatible cable!

TV is capable of 4k 60hz same time but in display setting only showing 4k no hz

Error when selecting the 4K UHD resolution on Xbox One X and Xbox One S

You receive the following error message when you choose 4K UHD in display settings:

    That didn't work

4K is supported by your TV, but not at 60Hz. You won't be able to upscale to 4K, but, depending on your TV, you may still be able to play some 4K and HDR content. To see what your TV supports, choose 4K TV details.

This error occurs when the console detects that your TV supports 4K, but doesn't support a 60 Hz refresh rate. You may still be able to play 4K content at other refresh rates, but you won't be able to upscale the system, games, and apps to 4K.

    Solution

To determine what your TV is telling the console about its 4K capabilities, see

Checking your TV's 4K and HDR capabilities on Xbox One X and Xbox One S
. Use the 4K TV details screen to see what changes as you try different things:

    • Make sure your HDMI cable is plugged into the correct port on your TV. Some 4K TVs only support their full set of 4K features on specific HDMI ports. See your TV manual to determine if there are special 4K HDMI ports, or try different ports on your TV.
    • Check your TV's settings menu. Your TV might have a special mode that controls your TV's refresh rates. See your TV manual to determine if you need to change your TV's settings.
    • Make sure you're using the HDMI cable that was included with the Xbox One X and Xbox One S.
    • Try a different HDMI cable. Your cables must be HDMI High Speed or HDMI Premium certified.
    • Plug your TV straight into your console with the HDMI cable that was included with the Xbox One X and Xbox One S. Some AV receivers or other video equipment may not correctly pass the signal to your TV or console. Also, you'll need to use HDMI High Speed
or HDMI Premium certified cables between both the console and receiver, and the receiver and TV.
Unfortunately, some TVs don't support 4K at 60Hz. See your TV manual to make sure.

    Help

in all games I have a slightly frizzy picture, clearing the cache does not help, what should I do?
Have you tried adjusting the resolution and color settings? If not try this link and see if it fixes the problem.

    https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/console/improve-video-quality

Also, make sure you have a good HDMI cable, especially if you are running at 4K resolution. a defective cable, or one not rated for 4K resolution can force the system to lower the resolution so that it is compatible with the hardware to include the HDMI
    cable.

Also check your TV to see if it is compatible. When I first upgraded to a 4K set, not only was I using a standard high definition HDMI cable, but my TV set needed a firmware update before it worked at 4K with the XBOX One S.

    Xbox One HDMI Cable (Original)

    Hi,

I recently upgraded to an Xbox Series S from an original first generation Xbox One.

I had the XBox set up in the bottom of large bespoke book shelf which is attached to the wall and the console's HDMI cable runs through the back of the bookshelf to my TV higher up the wall. I have kept using this cable for my Series S as I do not have a 4K TV yet.

If I get a 4K TV will this same cable be able to handle 4K/60fps or will I need to dismantle my massive bookshelf to replace the HDMI cable?

    Thanks for any help offered.
The cable is a good one and should work but as the original console was never set up for 4K you may find that you have some minor issues or degradation in the video. If it all possible I would recommend trying to use the cable that came with the newer console.
