Do I Always Need to Sign In to XBOX One?

Hey All,

I just got an XBOX One and I'm taking a bit of time setting it up. I'm sure I'll have many more questions after this one, but here is the first question I'd like to ask. If my profile is the only one set up on my XBOX, why do I need to sign in every time
I turn it on? Is there a default that just automatically takes me to my home page?

whenever i sign onto xbox it says that i need to pick a avatar and it always signs me out when i do can somebody help??

YOU don't need to sign in, your XBOX ONE does. It's always on, always connected, always listening.

 

Yes. In settings you can set it to auto login.

You should be able to change this in the sign-in, security & passkey settings, to keep the system logged in.

Awesome, I didnt know that as well!

Imma have to give it a try when I get home, kinect signs in with facial recognition sometimes it doesn't. Its annoying haha.

I honestly don't spend much time on the Xbox One and when I do, I'm playing games. Also changes are coming so fast (to me anyway because I'm on the 360 a lot) that I haven't been bothered to keep up. I didn't become an ambassador until after 6 years of using
the Xbox's services on the 360 which is when I felt confident enough to give support. So you can imagine how long it will take before I know a lot about the Xbox One, haha.
