DNS settings

My DNS is - 2604:2d80:802b:8459:be4d:fbff:fe8f:7fc2.. I tried factory resetting my xbox and it didn't work, also from research I saw to use the 8.8.8.8 DNS but when I try this it just puts it as my secondary DNS. Any way I can fix this or do I have to send
it into xbox under the warrant?

Connecting to friends & party

Try manual DNS Settings. On your xbox, go to Settings, System, Network Settings, Wired- or Wireless -Network, Configure Network, DNS Settings. Choose manual. Select Primary DNS Server and type in: 192.168.2.1

May I ask, what's wrong with BT infinity's DNS servers?

 

What happens when you chose automatic? If you choose automatic it should configure everything and connect.

This happened with the update on 12/9, I used to have manual DNS, and games were actually playable. Since the update it's back to auto DNS no matter what I do and I'm back to multiplayer Lag Hell. So thanks for that MS.

 

Try clearing your system Cache from your "Network Setting" and also "Persistent Storage" out of the Blu-Ray settings. (all this is on the Xbox One) Also do a 3-Point-Power Cycle. Unplug from the Console>unplug from the "Brick"> Unplug from the wall... wait
until the light on the brick goes completely out. This is a total dead system... ( youll lose nothing) then plug it in the exact same way you unplugged it. Console>Brick>wall... if you do it opposite your going to cause power slams. it may affect the system.

 

I am having a Xbox Live interconnection problem also, but mine is slightly different because I am working with hybrid technology and a slow internet connection. My Xbox Original, 1st or 2nd edition, from 2000 or early 2001 is upstairs in a spare bedroom/office,
connected via Ethernet into a TP-Link Wi-Fi Powerline Extender (AV500 Powerline Edition) that is plugged into the wall socket; the TP Link Adapter is plugged into the wall socket next to my modem, a Ethernet cable is connected into the TPL Adapter and connected
into my DSL/Modem, which is connected into the DSL/Phone Filter/Jack [CenturyLink configuration]. I run the auto connection and just when I think I am about to connect to XBox Live, I receive the message that I cannot connect. I think I need to push the
modem's WPS button again, press the adapter's Pair button then run upstairs and push the Wi-Fi Clone button on the extender. However, I realize it may not work because the bedroom's wall socket may be on a different circuit than the wall socket downstairs.
I am actually testing the Wi-Fi Powerline capabilities, but I was really hoping I could connect my Xbox to Xbox Live.

I appreciate all laughter be kept to a minimum (ha, ha, ha), but please provide any comments and recommendations you may have to offer.
