  1. DNS Server Problem Resolved !

So I have been having this problem with my Xbox for the past 2 weeks and so far the only option that has worked is resetting your (Comcast, Century-link, Cox, Time Warner cable modems) to there factory defaults( you can only do this from your modem page
Ex. 192.168.1.1, 10.0.0.01) then test your connection again.

So far I have done absolutely everything in the Xbox forums and none of them worked, So I tried formatting the Xbox hard drive and reset my cable modem to factory defaults and wal-la I'm back online!

I hope this helps out a lot of people having this issue but it will only work if you have a DNS server resolve problem

    :)

how to speed up your download speed on your xbox one

I thought this would be gone by now.

    1. Changing your DNS can improve your download speed but it is not simply because you changed DNS. What happens is if your ISP DNS is bad it can resolve you to node that is not well suited for what you are trying to do. If your ISP DNS is not good this can improve your download speeds.
    2. As it is more likely you hit the Xbox live download cap vs Dns issues. Depending on load the Xbox live server can limit your download speed.
    3. As Indie stated there is a chance that you had ERA's(exclusive resource apps) running and that will limit your download speed.
    4. Changing your DNS to google or Open DNS opens you up to information collection by google for selling to ad companies. At 1 point Cloud fare was offering free dns with a privacy policy.

We'd love to help, massey, but some more details will be really useful here. What all have you tried so far? What happens exactly when you try to connect? Have you been through the

    connection wizard
for this particular error? It's pretty long, but it has a lot of great tips and things to try if you're willing. Let us know!

    Xfinity modern dns

It could well be a problem with your ISPs DNS servers.

Try to work your way around this problem by configure your Xbox DNS settings so that your console resolves names into an IP address by using a public or open resolver.

Configure Googles public DNS servers as the primary and secondary DNS under your consoles network settings.
