DNS issue on 360?

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are experiencing difficulties with being able to connect your console to your home network.

Just for testing purposes, are you able to connect your console to an alternate network, such as a mobile hotspot? You mentioned that you are able to connect to the network at your lake house, but there could also be interference that might be causing discrepancies

If you are able to perform this, it might indicate that it could have something to do with the network configuration your are running. There is a chance an update was passed out to your network hardware and could have mildly changed something there.

Additionally, if possible, it would also be worth a try to try using an wired connection using an ethernet cable.

If you can test this out in your home, and provide us with the results, we might be able to provide additional troubleshooting techniques that should help alleviate this.

I had previously tried manually changing the DNS to all of those to no avail prior to your post. I flipped through every page in that link and tried the small handful of things I hadn't messed with earlier, and of course nothing worked.

I'm really just baffled. I've had this system for over 7 years and I've had no issue connecting. It's not like the router needs to be replaced or anything either, considering it actually is a replacement itself I got around a year or so ago. Every device
in the house connects just fine.

It's a DNS issue. I fixed it by manually the DNS servers on the Xbox 360. I used Level3's public DNS servers:

Besides checking on the double NATing issue, you should also check what external DNS servers you end up using. It appears you've specified both the gateway and the 360 itself as the DNS servers. Which DNS servers is the router using? In any case,
if you're going to manually set the DNS servers on the 360 (rather than letting the router automatically specify them) point just to the router as DNS and perhaps another backup DNS server that's not specified in the router, but not the 360 itself.
