I'm about to go crazy here. I have a motorola 3360 modem if that matters. I can't do anything with my xbox one what so ever until this is fixed...

My playstation 4 starts right up, and connects to the internet. I have two computers running off the same internet. I tried a direct connection (skipping the router) and it still wont work. Anyone have any suggestions?

Edit: Just to make things more complicated the support trouble shooting and Xbox customer support are both down right now whenever I try to use them. Uhg. lol

    :)

DNS isn't resolving xbox server names

It happened out of no where.

We unplugged our interent router whilst in the midst of doing some wire/cable management and my Xbox was on during the process. Once everything was all plugged back in, I came back to my xbox saying it was offline (for obvious reasons).

However, it did NOT automatically reconnect once our router was back up and running. And then when I manually went and selected the wifi network I usually had it on, it gave me the message: "DNS isn't resolving Xbox server names" - Which at this point might
as well be the red ring of death because nothing seems to fix it...

    So began the trouble shooting...

I played with the DNS settings; manually changing them to Google's servers, my routers servers, recommended servers online... none of them worked.

I dug up the ol' CMD prompt and looked up IPCONFIG/ALL to get a reading on all the IP addresses and DNS's. Those DNS's didn't work either...

**Keep in mind that EVERY other device in the house works just fine with the internet/wifi, its JUST the xbox that is having this DNS issue.**

So I eventually came to the point of doing a soft factory reset; meaning I kept all my games and apps downloaded on the xbox but deleted everything else. It worked! for about 10 minutes and then disconnected again while in the middle of doing some updates...

I REALLY DO NOT want to do a full factory reset seeing as it takes forever to redownload all my games. Besides, it seems as though this problem will persist even if I DO do a full reset...

I have a feeling it would work with an ethernet cable, but I currently don't have one long enough (and I really prefer to not have a ridiculously long cord going across the house).

To those of you who took the time to read through all of this, I thank you for your time and I will be absolutely grateful for whatever advice people could have. I pick up Destiny 2 tomorrow and am rather heartbroken that I will not be able to play it.

    Hey there Chieftain Sonic!

Sorry to hear about these DNS troubles.

    Could you try the following:

    1. Go to Xbox Home

    2. Hit start on your controller, this will bring up a menu.

    3. Go to Settings > Network > Advanced Settings

From here, could you tell me what the Primary DNS and
    Secondary DNS
    that you're currently using are?

I'll be waiting for your answer.

  10. I live in north carolina east coast USA

I have a brand new Pace Plc 4111N-031 router (that has a modem built in). It works with my PS4 and 2 computers just fine.

I only have one Xbox one connected to it, BUT it shows 2 xbox Ones under "port 3"

    XboxOne Port 3 c0:33:5e:84:6d:89 192.168.1.65

    XboxOne Port 3 f8:18:97:2d:d5:b8 192.168.1.66

    Then I see: unknownC80AA98937A8 Port 1 c8:0a:a9:89:37:a8 192.168.1.50

(I think this is my computer because the IP is static)

    and then Mikayla-PC Port 4 00:1a:a0:dc:3e:90 192.168.1.64

    Which is my mom's computer.

    unknown709E295B8A76 Port 2 70:9e:29:5b:8a:76 192.168.1.67

(which is my PS4) Awesomely enough I tried clearing my PS4's info to see if I could figure out how I configured it to work, and now I can't get it connected now :/ awesome... I didn't think that out.

My IP page is showing two xbox on port 3, one active and one inactive. So maybe it's my xbox kinect? (which didn't come with the system, not sure if that could be a problem)

All My Connections are Wired. I don't like Wifi but I have it (not set up yet).

Is UPnP Enabled? Yes/No/Unknown: I dont know?

Do you have a NAT error? If so, what is your NAT type?: I dont get a nat error. I keep getting either a DSN cant read server or they cant find my IP...right now it's IP.

Any Error Codes you encounter: No

Who is your ISP? (Internet Service Provider): AT&T

    Hey Chieftain Sonic!

    Thanks for posting that information.

It indeed looks like there's something going wrong in at the Xbox One itself. Did the console connect properly before?

DNS Isn't resolving Xbox Server Names?

MY XBOX One is having this issue and it started about a week ago. Some things work on it and some things do not that require internet. My XBOX One is a Call of Duty Advanced Warfare 1TB unit and it has been full of glitches since purchasing. Was there
a recent update that may have affected the unit so that it will not connect? I have another unit that is a regular one and not a special edition that is unaffected. Any thoughts? I have, like the others, went through all the troubleshooting steps and it
    will not resolve the DNS's.

    Hello,

Once again there still problem connecting Xbox app to server Toredo..

Since last update insiders build n°14971, there still impossible to connect to the server and as result it say always "Bloqued".

Toredo is qualified and connected but server won't be connected....

I tried every solutions from the support xbox app without success..

It's very enoying and don't know how fix that problem.

Build 14965 was the first build since long time who worked again well with multiplayer features and who was connected to the server.

if DNS is still an issue, try going in and setting the DNS manually. 8.8.8.8 is Google DNS for example. I have my router set to use this vs my ISP DNS.

    Hi Franky,

Thanks for coming to the forums with your issue with connecting wired. You can try clearing the alt mac address on the Xbox. Go to settings>network>network settings>adv. settings>alt mac address clear and restart. You can also try the

    network connection troubleshooter.

    1. Step 1- choose my console cant connect to internet
    2. Step 2-No I get an error message
    3. Step 3 select your error and follow each step afterwards.
Try these and let us know.

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely.
Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.
Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.
