DNS is not connected to server names

What brand of repeater are you using and what do you have set for the current configuration mode on it? No need to provide specific ip or ssid names for your safety.

Just a reply to explain what a DNS server is.

In simple terms, a DNS (Domain Name System) server is a computer server that acts like a phonebook for the internet. It translates human-readable domain names (like xbox.com) into IP addresses that allow your console/PC/Phone to connect to such sites and services. DNS servers are also used to get your your console to connect to the Xbox Live Service.

By default your connection should use the DNS server your ISP uses. Or, you can change the server address to a more public DNS such as Google's 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.8.4 as Tezzarific pointed out.

when i try to connect it says that the DNS is not resolving xbox server names

My Xbox hasn't got built in wifi, which is why I'm using an ethernet cable.

I'm getting the error "your dns server can't resolve xbox live server names".

My xbox connects to the network but not the internet.

And I have tried setting Googles DNS servers and the OpenDNS servers, which resulted in it not even connecting to the network

I tried re-entering the DNS and clearing the MAC and I'm still getting "DNS isn't resolving Xbox server names" when I got to connect to my mobile hotspot.
