    DNS Error - The DNS server can't resolve xbox live server names


    Hi, I have been going out of my mind here trying to connect my machine.

    I have my connection coming in from a fibre optic cable to my router to my pc's and my xbox machine. All setup fine, internet works on my pc's. Can see the xbox machine on my device list in my router.

    Here is a breakdown of the things I have been through and set based on various online tutorials for this issue, I feel I have tried everything now... DNS Error - The DNS server can't resolve xbox live server names :(

    - created a static ip for my xbox.

    - forwarded all needed ports on my router to my xbox ip.

    - manually added these addresses in network settings.

    - after all failed I even tried setting up this static ip as a DMZ just to test - still fail.

    When testing the configuration on the machine, the network is recognised, then from network > internet I get the big red x and this error.

    My router has given me the settings for the subnet mask / gateway and the DNS settings and I can see these from within the router and they are correct, if I use 'automatic' on my xbox it will detect these settings correctly.

    I have even tried using googles nameservers of 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 manually within the DNS settings, still the same issue.

    Can anyone help? maybe you have had the same problem? I have no idea anymore...

    I am located in Thailand by the way, have friends who use online gaming here so issue with country.
