  1. DNLA media Player

Hi, I am having problems with the media player app on the xbox one. My pc can detect the xbox and I can use the 'play to' feature with no problems but my xbox does not seem to detect my media on my pc. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Initially it comes
up with a message saying I need to connect a usb or set up a dlna. then returning to the app it says 'Sign in, cant access the the file. Make sure that the file isn't in use, that you can access the place the file is stored, and that your networks proxy settings
are correct, then try again' 0x00d11d2 (0x80070005).

    Please help?

    :)

Same here - the Media Player app wont detect my DNLA server (which is hooked up to the router) - despite it being visible to every other computer/device on my network. Really irritating as I was really looking forward to using this feature on Xbox One.

Have you been to media player settings on your PC and 'allowed' your xbox one?

Open Windows media player. Click Stream and then click more streaming options from the drop down menu.

Make sure your xbox one is allowed access.

Another possibility is you have a PC firewall that is blocking access.

I used to have problem streaming to devices when I used to use Norton firewall.

I'm having this same issue. I have Plex installed and running on my desktop computer, but I don't see anything advertised on the media player app. My Xbox 360 and other devices on my network see it without a problem.

Also, just to confirm, I went ahead and set up media sharing on my Windows 7 desktop to test (with Windows Firewall turned off) - still nothing found on the media player app.

Did you check the settings in Windows Media player?

So do i and streaming works fine.

I had to allow streaming to xbox one in windows media player then leave windows media player and the media player app on x1 running for a few minutes before it started working.

I am having troubles as well.

I've followed the steps to allow streaming from Windows Media Player, and my Xbox One still detects no music when I fire up the Media Player Preview app. I've also tried turning Windows Firewall on or off and that doesn't change anything. If anybody has
any other suggestions, please let us know.

With my 360, I used Zune as my media extender, but unfortunately it looks like that will no longer work with Xbox One. Since much of my music collection is not matched to the Xbox Music cloud database, DLNA is my only option to listen to music through my
console. I had hoped to replace my 360 for this function since it does not get a great wireless signal in my living room (I am using the not so great antenna add-on), but nothing is working on my Xbox One.

Does your xbox even detect your PC?

If it does detect the PC but not the music then you have to make sure the music folder on your PC is being watched by windows media player.

Open windows media plays, click organise then manage libraries then music. Then make sure the music folder is listed. After adding it you need to wait a while with media playing running for music to be available for streaming

My Xbox doesn't even detect my PC. When I launch the media player app, I get the message that I have to connect to a DLNA server or USB drive to view media. If I launch my Xbox 360's media app, I see my desktop's DLNA server in addition to the Plex server
I'm running. This is using the same network cable for both the 360 and the Xbox One.

I just installed that plex media server to my PC and the xbox was able to detect that straight away so if your xbox can't detect the windows media play or the plex then my assumption would be either your anti-virus, firewall or your some setting in your
    router is blocking access.
