DLNA Support with Lumia's from Media Player App?

With the new October Update I tried to get DLNA to work with my Lumia. Does it work with screen mirroring? The Lumia "Play To" app works perfect but DLNA does not show up on the Media Player Preview App. Any idea?

    :)

Media Player - Video stops playing over DLNA - Error 0xc00d11cd (0x8000ffff)

    Scenario:

DLNA service running on the LAN (by Router tp-link wdr3600 sharing media content from external hd).

Xbox one Media Player is able to see the DLNA service. Also it allows to browse through folders and see media files.

    Problem:

After selecting a video to play, Xbox one Media Player plays it more or less for a minute. Then it says (the following message is translated: I get the messages in italian):

Cannot play. Try again later. If the problem persists, go to
    www.xbox.com/support
    ... to find suggestion. 0xc00d11cd (0x8000ffff)

This happens for any video on DLNA.

    Further notes:

The same videos can be played with Xbox one Media Player by connecting the external hd directly to the console through Usb.

The video previews (sampled video image showed as tile) are not displayed when accessing to the DLNA service. They are displayed when accessing through USB.

The same videos can be played over DLNA on other device on the LAN (i.e. with VLC running either on PC Windows XP and MacBook).

    Media Center

Xbox One will be supporting DLNA on it's media player app with the upcoming October dashboard update, so this should be possible without problems.

It's already possible to stream media towards the One with the windows media player, but with the next update the One will be able to browse for DLNA servers within the network it's connected to.

Why can't i play MKV files on my Xbox One? after recent update?

    Taken from the preview forums:

    • Media Player – A new app will be available soon that enables you to play media files from either an attached USB device or from a network connected home media server that supports DLNA protocols. The preview version of the Media Player
app will initially only support USB devices, with DLNA support coming soon. Xbox One will support more formats than Xbox 360, including support for dozens of new file formats like mpeg 2 TS,
animated gifs and mkv which will be added by the end of the year. See below for additional file formats.

How to stream video from PC to XBox One X ?

Xbox does not support reading network shares, which is kinda odd considering it runs Windows and it should be able to join Homegroups created by Windows when you think about it.

    So your options are

    1) Get VLC from Xbox app store, it can read SMB network shared folder under "browse" category.

    2) Install a DLNA media server on your PC like Serviio or Mezzmo and use that to stream to Xbox stock media player which supports DLNA.

    3) Install a media server like Plex or Emby and use there clients available in the Xbox app store, to play the media that way, Plex/Emby do also double as DLNA servers too but their app clients are a better way to access the media.

How do i add a background

You can do it through DLNA. I've been able to access images streamed from my computers and use those as backgrounds through the media player app.

    Media Player and MPEG4

The same is true with MKV files encoded with h.264 and AC3 audio. Nothing will play in the Media Player app from my DLNA server. It was working an hour ago, but not anymore.
