    DLNA PlayTo Streaming No Longer Working from PC Windows 7 to Xbox One


    *Note* I have been in search of a solution for a couple weeks and have tried a number of solutions.

    I am no longer able to stream from my PC to my Xbox One. I can see the Xbox One on my PC... I can select PlayTo as before... But nothing plays... 1) If it is music I am trying to stream, I am prompted to install Groove Music. When I did (of which I have
    now on 4 attempts), it prompts me to update Groove. As you may have experienced, this is a continuous loop of which I am prompted to update Groove even after updating. 2) If it is a movie I am trying to stream, the Movie & TV app attempts to load but stays
    in a waiting state with the continual circle of loading dots.

    I have tried removing and re-adding the device (Xbox One) on my PC, renaming the Xbox One, using Media Player on the Xbox as before, restart both devices, checked my network and permissions, and nothing as helped. Initially, I was getting the failed to initialize
    message but two weeks now I am getting the "Error occurred on your device" message. This is frustrating of course, so any assistance provided is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Groove music

    I found this in another thread from a moderator.

    As part of bringing the Groove Universal Windows app to Xbox, we lost a few features like Music Videos and DLNA PlayTo and added a few like background audio, Your Groove, and Explore.

    We know how loved DLNA PlayTo and Music Videos are and are working to bring them back soon.

    DLNA playto is only visible after PC reboot?

    Anyone have an issue where the DLNA playto feature is only visible after rebooting the PC? It seems like Windows Media Player can see the xbox under Stream -> More streaming options... but the playto option does not appear in the File Explorer right click
    context menu or under the Play to menu of the media player Play tab. However if I reboot it will work fine.

    Is there anyway to coax the media player into seeing the xbox one at this state?

    edit: The PC is running full updated Windows 8.1 Pro.

    Where is Microsoft Windows Media Center?

    They did however state full dnla support, and right now they only support playto. This would solve most everything in my opinion regarding streaming from pcs, i much prefer using dlna on the 360 instead of media center. but with xbox one we can't do either
