DLNA enabled LG NAS not detected by Media Player App

I've been trying to get my LG NAS box detected by my Xbox since the 1410 update, however it just won't show up. Other media players on my home network detect the box and can play my files.

It isn't compatible with Plex, if I could enter the IP address within the App everything would be sorted but that option isn't available to us.

Does anyone have any suggestions I could try to remedy this?

    :)

Black issues with an XBOX One S and the media player

Which is the best method of playback from a NAS quality wise.

Media Player (Standard DNLA default app)

Plex app - accessing same files on a plex Server

    Entertainment>My films & TV>Personal>Media Servers
(The interface is different in this method compared to the stock DLNA media player app)

    Hi G4m3s 0v3R,

I have a question.. What is the make/model of your NAS? (Network Attached Storage in case anyone was wondering). I ask because there are some NAS devices that need DLNA enabled in order for Xbox One to see them in Media Player.. Not all of them auto enable.

I too use Plex, but I am a Plex Pass subscriber so I get the app for free. But I have noticed that recently (past 48 hours) that my NAS now actually works in Media Player.. Maybe there is a patch in the November update that fixes this issue.

If you still have this problem after the November update, please come back and let us know so we can follow up for you.

How to connect XBOX ONE X to a home NAS?

    Hey Michael,

Thanks for your response! If your NAS supports DLNA, the Xbox One will be able to play media using the

    "Media Player"
application. Simply open Media Player, allow it to detect the server on your network, browse your media, and play!

I hope this information helps, thanks again!

How to connect XBOX ONE X to a home NAS?

Ok, using DLNA I can add my NAS on XBOX media centre. However I can't open anything because the Media Player app doesn't ask for the login or password.

    DNLA media Player

My Xbox doesn't even detect my PC. When I launch the media player app, I get the message that I have to connect to a DLNA server or USB drive to view media. If I launch my Xbox 360's media app, I see my desktop's DLNA server in addition to the Plex server
I'm running. This is using the same network cable for both the 360 and the Xbox One.
