DLC on Home Xbox

I just have a quick question. I recently bought a second Xbox One console so that my son and I could play online games together. I set the new console as my home Xbox, so that he would have access to the games and DLC that I have purchased, without me
having to be signed in. I sign in and play on the on the original console, which is now not my home console. My son is added as a family member on my account.

Last night, we were trying to play Destiny, and my son did not have access to a DLC that I had purchased. I ended up having to purchase it again under his account in order to play. I was under the impression that on my home Xbox, anyone who signs in will
have full use of all my paid DLC and my Gold subscription. Is there something else I need to do to transfer licenses to the new console?

Sharing DLC on X-Box One

Yes, in a sense. Whoever plays on his "home" Xbox has access to all of his games, including DLC. So if your Xbox was his home Xbox, you would be able to download and use the car pack. If his own Xbox is his home Xbox, and he comes over, logs on, downloads
the DLC, you will not be able to use the DLC once he leaves.

 

File sharing dlc

Need some help! I have an xbox in my living room wth me and both my son's accounts on it (originally my home xbox) One of my sons got an xbox for his birthday. So I followed the file sharing rules and made my home xbox in his room, and his home xbox on
the original Xbox in the living room. Everything was working great until the son who didn't get an xbox, signed in on the original Xbox in the living room and didn't have any of the dlc on his favorite game? So the question is how do we all get the dlc?

Which DLC was your son trying to access? Some in-game cosmetics are not shareable across accounts and must be purchased separately which may explain why your son was unable to use it until you purchased it. Does your son have trouble accessing any of your
games?

Hi, sorry for late reply. The content he was trying to access was the Taken King Expansion. He could access and play Destiny itself, but was locked out of Taken King.
