DLC for Backward compatible / older games

Hello Microsoft / Xbox One team!

Recently bought an Xbox One for my son and was thrilled to find that there is a huge library of the old (and better) RPGs from when I used to play more video games. I've been enjoying a few, but have noticed that either DLC for these games is not available
(i.e. Yavin Station for Knights of the Old Republic I) or is still full price and can't be bundled (i.e. $30+ for all the DLC for Dragon Age: Origins). While I am fully willing to pay a bit of money for these DLC, I already paid for it once years ago either
on 360 or computer versions so not willing to pay full price for them again to simply play on a different platform.

In any case, I realize in some cases (maybe all?) the price or availability of DLC for older games may not be in your purview to include. However, I figured no harm in asking, is there any chance that DLC will be made available (for games that it currently
isn't) and/or made available at reduced cost for older games? Seems insane that some of these older games cost $4.99 - 14.99 yet the DLC for these games is still full price running up to $9.99 or more for each DLC. Going back to Origins example, when the
"Ultimate edition" was released it was sold for something like $59.99 for the full game with all DLC. However, the full game was still being sold for ~$45. Now that the regular game is inexpensive (or free in some cases) it'd be nice to see equal treatment
    given to DLC.

From a commercial perspective, it seems to me most gamers that do not already own the games with their DLC would be willing to purchase them, but not when they cost 2-5 times more than the regular games in question. So it would stand to reason that there
would be more profit overall (since with software this old, it's all profit) if the costs were somewhat reduced on the DLC. At least for me, for the DLC that is available, I've bought one or two of the really cheap ones (like bring down the sky for Mass Effect
which cost like $1), but when I looked at the pricing for DA: Origins DLC I just laughed and moved on to something else. It's reasonable to ask players to pay a few bucks for DLC that wasn't a part of the original game many years ago, but to ask for $10 for
DLC while charging $10 for the full game (60 hour game vs. ~10 hour DLC) makes for an easy decision as a consumer.

    Thanks for reading.

    :)

DLC for Backward compatible / older games

I feel like that is a question more for the developers of each game. I'm not sure if Microsoft has much control unless it is a Microsoft Studios game. Some games are even being made into "Definitive Editions" where in those cases the DLC is added in.

I also believe that if you set home sharing on that XBox you should be able to still access all of that content as long as you have access to the account you purchased it under. This should also give everyone on that XBox access to that content.

    I hope this is helpful.

DLC for Backward compatible / older games

Hi Chad! Any digital DLC you've purchased on your account is there forever. If you still use that same account, you would only need to purchase the base game and the dlc would be available for installation. The DLC is nontransferrable between accounts, however.

Even older games can go on sale, so if you're looking for complete games at lower cost it's best to keep an eye out for the weekly deals.

    Hope this helps!

A lot of these decisions are developer or publisher based - not microsoft's. If you want change, it's best to petition them!

    Need for Speed Backwards Compatibility

The older need for speed games would make for good backwards compatible games and maybe when the team start looking at backwards compatibility after the release of scarlett, it may happen
