DLC content is extreme extremely unfair!

^^^Crunch, I was always under the impression that it was MS themselves who set the price of DLC. Devs could "suggest" what they felt was fair, but ultimately it was MS's decision. Is this not the case on the XB1?

 

I think you're right Trippul. I don't think anything has changed and I believe that Microsoft still sets the prices on the Xbox Marketplace for the Xbox One and the 360.

Instead of writing "Turn10 as the producer then sets the price for that content" I should have written "Turn10 as the producer deserves to get paid for the work they put into creating the content".

 

Always the consumers fault when devs/publishers attempt to milk people. CD Projekt came out and said it best: Other than full expansions, hefty story based dlc and full games extra content rarely cost devs much money at all to make. Re skinning a car, sword
etc and inputting different mechanics (most of which have been coded into the game already) cost next to nothing and as such should be used as a reward system for those of us that legitimately buy their products. As things stand within the industry, people
who pirate games/apps reap all the benefits, whilst those of us who support the devs get milked for every penny devs can rinse out of us.

I have no idea why people feel the need to make excuses for themselves when speaking out against the whole micro transaction and DLC nonsense that is now common place within the industry to those people that defend the practice and devs like we're the ones
in the wrong.

Too many devs/publishers seem more concerned about pushing their dlc/season passes than giving us a working day 1 product. Take BF4, the game was a mess when released, yet they were already talking about season passes etc before they even had a stable game
to offer. Maybe if devs released quality working games consumers would be less inclined to moan about extras and that goes for Forza 5 too. The on line lobbies are garbage bad - players getting punted, being disconnected from races etc. But hey, please buy
an extra £65 worth of downloads.

 

These extra DLC content is to get the money they would of got if they were able to raise game prices without pissing off their customers. Games now a days run about $100+ after buying the available content they have for it so you can have the full game.
Yes you don't have to have the full game but people will want to experience the full game and that's where they get you. I don't know if I came to age that I don't play as often or subconsciously i don't want to pay all that money to play a game.

 

I feel the exact same way as the OP. Lack of tracks and lack of cars then charging for dlc was disgusting. That's why I waited a year before even considering to get F5 which I got for free with my X1. Always a huge fan of the Forza series but this is
the first Forza I didn't purchase at launch. Its a good game but the entire idea of charging for dlc for cars that were already in previous games just makes me sick. Its also the main reason why F5 didn't do so well compared to F4. Hopefully T10 will learn
from this experience and make F6 a much better game. ..

 

Is the problem that Turn10 made a game with too little content that didn't meet some consumers expectations?

Or is the problem that some consumers expected too much from a launch game on a new console platform?

 

Well when the previous game had almost 700 cars and a lot of tracks it makes sense consumers are going to be disappointed. Especially when you remove almost 500 cars from the previous game. Less cars, less tracks, no Auction house, no storefront, charging
for DLC for cars that were in previous games. Quite obvious why the consumers are very upset and the game is not doing as well. A majority of the cars are not even finished. Some don't have fully working Autovista parts like hoods cant open, trunks don't
open. Lobby system has bugs, audio bugs that are very frustrating and many more issue.

I still like T10 as a developer and I feel bad that they were rushed to release F5 as a launch title. However they should not have charged for DLC for cars that were already in the game. That's just a huge bs move to the fans. Honestly insulting. Hopefully
they learned their lesson and make up for it with F6, otherwise they are going to run this series into the ground.

 

Why only creditcard ? (payments)

I mean i live in the Netherlands and I don't have/want a creditcard, are there any other options to purchase ?
