Some content isn't shareable with the game sharing but first you might also want to see if the DLC content just needs to be downloaded to the console. Login to the console and check. otherwise the download is account restricted which means it can't be shared.

In your games list, focus on the game, press the Menu button on your controller, and then select Manage game & add-ons. Some add-ons are accessed in the game rather than installed
separately. Any installable add-ons or DLC not yet installed will appear under Ready to install.

Note: If you don't want to play at the same time..You'll be able to access the content through the "owners" home xbox. Or at least you should be able to from my experience.

Also, this may not be the case, but some games DLCs are not shared by the Sharing feature. You may want to contact the publisher to ask if that's the case.

What can be shared
