Ditch The Disc Is Lame

Why would Microsoft promote a ad that says "Ditch The DIsc". Many many more people including myself prefer and just bought the disc version over the digital download version of the console. We expect Microsoft to still support the disc aspect of video gaming and realize how many people like myself would ditch the console if they "Ditch The Disc". I would never buy a digital download only console. I grew up without the internet and I dont believe video gaming should depend solely on the internet, the band width, the connection and hookup. Its all different for everybody therefore not fair. Also the internets relation to our gaming experience has always felt like a leach in my pocket blood sucking the wallet. Thats lame. Some people dont have access to the internet, what about their gaming experience? The internet go's out or those satellites might not always be out there giving the gamer access to their game, what then? Most people who bought the digital download console are those who couldnt find a disc version or because it was cheaper. You can hold a disc, save a disc, share a disc, play a disc without the internet. So why not the disc? Oh yeah because the manufactuer makes more money plus has more control when all you get is a laggy game. Download digital consoles should not exist.

there is an environmental impact to having discs and cases (massive actually)

plus most discs are useless too ift the net goes out as to install you still need a net connection to get the day one updates and alot of games these days require the internet to run.

the days of physical media are numbered.

across xbox 360, xbox one, ps3 and ps4 and pc i have thousands of games all digital.

times change and as there is more of us out there that means more plastics.

if they want to keep physical media then they should sell the games on micro sd cards which cost pennies these days and have packaging no bigger than a thumb.

Suppose a patch is far cheaper than recalling all games back; ditching the discs and starting all over again...

Ah that's a bit lame. :/ When I bought the disc it came with the two expansions.

Lol, I ditched the black flag disc when it was new, So I'll take this one. It's not a bad AC, just that unity is better imo.

It's a great game to play when you have the Halo CEA disc. The normal halo reach disc is lame, inless you have the map packs.
