The Sound Distortion come in TV sond or Headset?

That headset has a history of poor mic it seems. Given the difference, I suspect the controller is filtering the audio somewhat (do you have an audio adapter plugged into the controller as well as that might explain it)

the 360 wireless headset was awful too - distortion, interference and it was uncomfortable as hell

Is the microphone for this headset in-line (on the actual headset cable)? I know for other headsets this means the microphone won't work for the Xbox One.
