Unable to 120Hz at 1440p Even Though Monitor Supports 144Hz at 1440p

    You're a little discombobulated there.

I can display 1440p ONLY at 144Hz, and cannot at 120Hz on Xbox. I can only display 1440p at 60Hz on Xbox one X.

Yes I can display 1440p at 60Hz with Freesync - Although 120Hz without Freesync would still technically be better but unfortunately that is not possible with the restrictions on Xbox one X.

I use 1440p @ 60Hz settings with Freesync and HDR with 32 bit color. I get a pretty damn good picture but I'm just a little upset I can't use the 120Hz feature.

Xbox One X will not run 1440p at 120hz

Ty for the reply. However, 1440p is a setting that will display on both television and monitors. Assuming the television and/or monitor is capable if displaying it.

I can run 1440p on my telesivion woth the xbox but only at 60hz.

The isue i am having is running 1440p at 120hz.

im currently running 4k at 60hz which is the highest the xbox one x will go because it does not have a 2.1 hdmi port.

However, I want to be able to run 120hz at 1440p. My television is more then capable at displaying it, but the xbox isnt sending it.

Monitor options for series x on Assetto corsa competizione

For the monitors that fully support 1440P @120Hz, HDMI 2.0 is enough. You don't need HDMI 2.1. The Samsung G5 1440P is one of those monitors. However, the rated 165Hz is for PCs running the monitor through Display port. That being said, HDMI 2.0 on this display has enough bandwidth for 1440P at 120Hz.

The important thing to note is that Xbox One X or Series X isn't like a PC and games won't run better automatically just because you've got a 1440P display. Many Xbox Series X games will still render internally at 4K and will be downscaled to the lower display resolution. You'll only see improvements in performance if said performance options are available in the game. As far as I'm aware, ACC does not have a 1440P performance mode. It doesn't need it though as it a pretty solid (for the most part) 60fps game - well, it is on Xbox Series X anyway.

These gaming monitors have a technology called FreeSync which is also supported by the console. FreeSync eliminates screen tearing and judder when performance drops.

Awful framerate in 1440p mode in Red Dead Redemption 2 and other 30 fps games. Works fine in 4k Xbox One X

    Hi there,

I've tried that as well and nothing helps :(. I've tested it on all my 1440p capable displays and other Xbox One x units and it's the same. My friend that uses 1440p display has the same issue in Red Dead. It's really frustrating, especially because RDR
    online comes out today :(

How to enable 1440p on xbox series x

    Hi,

It's not possible on that display. The big reason why is that it isn't a 1440P display, at least it isn't a 16:9 aspect 1440P display, it's a 21:9 Ultra-wide monitor. Xbox only supports 1440P 16:9 aspect ratio displays. These monitors have a resolution of 2560 x 1440, yours has a resolution of 3440 x 1440.

The Asus ROG PG348Q is designed more for PC gaming not console gaming. Unless Microsoft provide support for these types of monitors in the future I'm afraid you're stuck with a maximum resolution of 1080P.
