    On my one X I was trying to adjust my video settings to fix an issue with white noise ("flickering snow" would show up during high contrast scenes) on my television and set my override display setting to HDMI. Before this the "Allow YCC 4:2:2" option enabled
    my TV to use 4k 10 bit for watching movies and TV. After switching back to automatic it doesn't work at all and the console says my TV doesnt support 50Hz or 24Hz when trying to enable in video mode.

    How can I return this to operational condition without a factory reset? I don't want to have to re-download my games.

    HDMI problems

    I got mixed up when I said the RB and Y method i meant the RT and Y method also there isn't and display recovery setting in the display settings.

    Reset the display settings on the Xbox 360

    Make sure the disc tray is empty.

    Turn on the console.

    On the controller, press and hold the right trigger and Y

    Press and hold the right trigger and the Y button

    The console resets the display settings to the factory default settings and then restarts automatically.

    No... sorry for uncorrect info. My gamepad is displayed as 2 gamepads in Mortal Kombat 11. "DirectInput" and "Xbox One". When i tap X it displays as ''A+X" whaen i tap A it displays like "Y+A" etc.

    Has he tried resetting the display settings? Power on using the guide button, press and hold Y and the right trigger on the controller. If that doesn't work he could try changing the display discovery option in the display settings.
