    Just happened tonight when I was playing online with my buddy on Destiny. It seemed like there was a lag spike ,but my friend didn't seem to be experiencing it. Then words and dialogue on means didn't appear. So I closed the game and attempted to open it
    from the home page ,but it didn't work. So after three attempts I turn off my system to see if that does the trick ,but when I turn on the system it is a black screen with no sound either. I try a different HDMI cord and give it some time to cool off but is
    still doesn't work.

    It also seems to be making a small soft clicking sound to if that helps narrow in on the problem.

    Can someone help me please?

    Please make sure there are no kinks or bends in yur HDMI cable, sounds like you do a lot of reconnecting, and those wires aren't exactly known for their durability.

    I have my xbox connected to a monitor at times and a plasma tv. The monitor is new and the plasma tv is 3 years old. Just this week I have been having some display problems. When I have the Display Discovery Enabled and connect my xbox 360 to the monitor
    that has speakers - all of sudden now I can't hear anything through the monitor speakers. I have an hdmi cable for the connection. Also, when I go into the display settings I do not have the option for HDTV Settings. It is not there. I do have a Screen
    Resolution that I can pick though. If I disable the display discovery and restart it I get the HDTV Settings tab and I can pick 1080p. When I do that I get sound to come through the monitor speakers.

    When I move my xbox 360 and connect it to my LG plasma tv with an hdmi cable it does the same thing if the display discovery is enabled. If I turn it off and restart it then I can choose 1080p and I get my sound back. I never had to do this before though.

    At the same time this started happening with my display - I can't use my Netflix app. It loads the video and then gives me an error that says it can't display due to a setting. The netflix app does not work on either whether I have the display discovery enabled
    or disabled.

    I've tried using different inputs and also using different HDMI cables. So, I don't think those are the issues. There is no firmware update for either my monitor or tv. Something is just weird with my display discovery or something and it just changed this
    week because it was fine earlier in the week.

    Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely.
    Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.
    Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

    " contains solutions to this type of issue. Also, have you tried plugging the console into a different HDMI port on the television? Does the video issue occur every time the console starts up? Be sure to let us know the results!
