Disney Infinity Base not Recognized

Both of my sons had the Disney Infinity (2.0 and 3.0) for XBox One with many figures. I understand that the game manufacturer discontinued the game and any associated online services at the beginning of 2017. However, my sons would still like to play offline
but neither of their XBox Ones will recognize their Infinity base.

In researching this problem on the internet it seems this happened to a lot of people and possibly there was going to be some kind of XBox update that would get the console to recognize the base and allow the game to be played.

Was anything ever done, or have these games and figures become useless because XBox won't even let it be played offline?

Yes, it just has to be the same system.

I bought Disney 2.0 base and it works fine with the digital download of 3.0.

The reason 3.0 is available digitally and 2.0 wasn't

Disney Infinity 2.0

Disney Infinity requires a base for the characters. If you do not have the base you will need to purchase one. Either by purchasing the full game or purchasing a used base. The base is needed for the Disney Infinity characters.

You can check your local video game stores to see if they have used bases for sale.

Unfortunately, any updates to the platform to get that working once more would be up to the developers of the game.

You might try testing those on another console and power cycling the console with them plugged in to see if maybe it is just a minor bug.

Beyond that it would be up to the developer to continue updating the game and device. You might try reaching out to the developer to see about future updates.
