    Yes, it just has to be the same system.

    I bought Disney 2.0 base and it works fine with the digital download of 3.0.

    The reason 3.0 is available digitally and 2.0 wasn't

    My son just got the last Infinity not that long ago do you know if he can just buy the new characters or will he need the new base also?

    As someone who's never played ANY of the games, I'm sorry to say that I can't answer your question. Disney Infinity 3.0 is coming! :(

    Tried the IOS version of Disney infinity and I kinda like it. Also read up on SW Disney Infinity on Game Informer and looks really cool. May pick up the Xbox one Version of Disney infinity 2.0 to get started.

    If I was going to get any of those games that need an external base it would be Lego dimensions. But doubt ill get that far too expensive if you want to be able to play the full game

    I would assume the figures will work on the 2.0 set. I know the figures for the 1.0 edition for 360 work on my kids 2.0 Xbox one version. I would hate to think you HAVE to gave the new pad over the one that came out less than a year ago.
