Disk reader not reading and no error messafe

My niece and I both have the same issue with our consoles. If we're lucky we can eject and insert a disk over and over until it eventually catches. Both sit on entertainment shelves alone, well ventilated, and level. Rebooting doesn't even help. I'm
not sure the disk even rotates like it's supposed to in either of them.

It sounds like there may be a hardware error in this case. is the console on a flat level surface and well ventilated? Does it happen with all types of discs like CDs DVDs and BluRays?

Any resolution to this?

I have the same issue. I place the disk in the opening, the disk gets drawn in, I hear some sounds, and then nothing. No spinning, no game.

The console is on a flat, level surface, and will spin games, but only about 10% of the times. This happens with all of games.

Hey there it seems as your getting a but frustrated lets try not to use inappropriate language in the forums thanks.

If that is the case with the borderlands disk then it is the disk and not the console. I cannot make the console forcefully read a broken disk, you can troubleshoot the disk reader / manager but that's all you can do if the game works on the 360 then the
360 seems to have read / manage the disk with no errors. You also need to take in mind that it also runs an emulator which will let you play backwards compatible games but at a slower rate then normal.

And as for your achievements lets just try one account to see if it fixes it can you please remove the profile on the console and re-add it thanks.

Hello, try to clean your disks with a soft cloth, then retry to read them.

If your xbox still doesn't read the disks, go to your retailer and ask for more informations (if the disks work on another console), if they can be read from another console (the retailer one?), the problem is in your xbox's cd reader.
