disk drive wont stay closed when loading game

When I am trying to load a game sometimes like (3 out of 5 times) my drive will go in and come right back out. I close it and it opens again. This will happen about 5 times before It finally stays closed to play the game. My system is only 7 months old!!

Well i av turned it back on and all that has happened is the disk drive as opened automatically and will not stay closed---fantastic!!! *sarcasm showing*

Oh yeah and by the way what is wrong with your Xbox is that there is this little plastic switch in your disc tray and a piece of broke off. [Mod Removed]

what things have you tried so far?

Can you check if the eject button is clean so nothing on it could cause an issue like this.

If it is clean and it still keeps happening I do advise to contact Xbox Support to see if they have any additional steps to try. You can contact them via

Be aware that if they don't have any steps to try you need to request a repair for the console, which can be done by Xbox Support or you can do it yourself via
http://myservice.xbox.com. If your system is only 7 months old the repair should be covered by warranty.
