Disk Drive not Working Right

My Disc Drive isn't working properly. It closes real fast when I open it, sometimes too fast to insert a disk. When I do manage to insert a disk instead of saying 'reading' or 'play game' it just says 'opening' even though it's closed. If I hit X, then it
will quickly flash through 'opening' , 'closing', and then 'reading'. Sometimes it will say 'play game', but most of the time it will say 'opening' again, even though it's closed. When it does allow me to play the game, it will only play for a couple of minutes
before going straight back to home with it still saying 'reading'

Disk Drive Problem

So my disk drive is not working right anymore. It takes a couple of pushes of the button to even get it opened. I would push the button and it would just not open. What is going on with my disk drive and is their a way to fix it?

While we're glad to hear your back to gaming, we'd recommend against using physical force on the console, especially with a disc in the dray. This can cause other issues, and wouldn't be covered under warranty if yo still have one.

It seems you have a defective disk drive and would need to contact microsoft to set up some kind of repair ticket for you. the link below should get you an idea of what you need to do. i'm sorry i cant help anymore. i hope this helped.

the solutions they gave were:

a.clean the disk

b.remove any usb flash drives

c.check the disk to be sure it is the right type and region

d.try another disk to see if that will work

none of these helped and after trying 12 of my games and getting the same result I began to realize the disk drive wouldn't explain why its also freezing while loading games from the market which are not on any disk.

Just to be sure, you didn't move your 360 while it was on right? If you did it will cause a huge circle on the bottom of the disk in the console and it simply won't work. If you don't have a giant circle on the disk, your disk drive might be failing. If
possible, you could always try installing it on your hard drive and see where it goes from there.

I know as of right now if you up to a 32gig flash drive formatted to FAT32 it will useable with the Xbox and MS is working on getting 64gigs to work also Scan disk makes official Xbox 8 and 16 gig flash drives but not the 32 gig yet
