Disk drive for xbox one stopped working

Hi, I have been looking for solutions for this problem but I can't even find anyone else with the same issue. I purchased a day one edition xbox one on launch and am a little disappointed that when my year warranty just runs out my machine decides to break.
I went to insert a disk into my machine and as the disk was being taken in, it suddenly stopped with about half the disk still hanging out of the machine. I did not want to force the disk in possibly damaging the disk or not to be able to retrieve it, so I
removed the disk. Now I cannot insert a disk at all and when I press the eject button, the noise is a completely different beep from what I have ever heard the machine make. It sounds like an error beep. So I am unsure what my next steps should be. Any assistance
would be appreciated.

Disk drive broken: any way to play games I've already downloaded?

My Xbox one disk drive just stopped working and I can no longer play any of the games that I've purchased on disk and downloaded. I don't want to pay to repair the drive, since I'd rather wait for the new console. Is there anyway to get permission to play
games I've already purchased?

 

my console didn't break in this exact way, so I don't get a game evidently...

It is complete BS the people who have disk drive problems can still play digital games. My power brick stopped working so I get to stare at my Xbox for 2 weeks while I wait on the new one.

It would appear that your Xbox One has a disc read error.

Please try the following solutions:

- Go to Settings > Network > Advanced Network Settings > Alternate Mac Address > Clear (This will restart your console, so don't be alarmed)

Once the console has restarted go back into Settings > Disc & Blu Ray > Persistent Storage > Clear Persistent Storage.

You might also want to ensure that your Xbox One is in Energy Saving mode, as this draws less power from the disc drive. To do this, go into Settings > Power & Startup and change the Instant On setting to Energy Saving.

Should the problem persist, you may need to send in your Xbox One for servicing. Please be aware that as your Xbox One is out of warranty, a cost will be associated with the repair.

Thanks! I ended up getting the machine repaired/replaced because I had one day left on my warranty. Looking forward to using my Christmas presents when I get it back!
