Disk Drive Error/Fail 5/4/15

Xbox refuses to fix my faulty disk drive that was identified as a bad drive when manufactured because my "xbox is out of warranty". Even though when the problem was first announced and I called and told them that mine was one of the ones listed as possibly
faulty the refused to replace it because "it wasnt broken yet". Now that it is broken they want me to pay 135 dollars to have them fix it for me even though they admit my xbox was manufactured with a faulty disk drive. Anyone have any ideas how force
this issue? I believe they should not force me to pay them to fix their mistake that the voluntarily admit to. Here are some articles where they admitted to there bad manufacturing...

Microsoft Acknowledges Xbox One Disc Drive Issue

This is the exact issue I am having now that they refused to fix before it became a problem and now they are trying to force me to pay them to fix it.

Is the XBox one Disc drive Failure overblown?

I got Xbox One at Christmas, and have played everyday.

The disk drive error has happened to me 4-5 times already.

Cant Download 8-26-2013 Download!?!?!?

If all else fails make sure your disk drive is plugged in that's why I got the error code

Sorry to see you've got a faulty disk drive there.

I understand it may be frustrating having to be asked to pay for a repair of an item that was known to be faulty at the manufacturing stage. This is particularly not acceptable.

The best course of action here is to get back in contact with Xbox and explain the situation fully - ask them to check your support request history, give them a date, even a time if you have it, of when you originally conatcted them.

If the representative still refuses, ask to be put through to a manager, they can dig a little deeper into the issue with technical resources.

I have now gone through 6 different people and have been told my only course of action is to contact the Legal Department. The only way to do that is by snail mail. That means that even if the solution is rectified this way it will be literally months from
now if not longer. I believe this is an unacceptable solution that I have to deal with a multibillion dollar corporations (that is obviously a monopoly) lawyers. This just tells me that they are not truly willing to find a solution and are going to hide behind
the legal system.

I started this page to gather support. I fear that a giant corporation is just going to hide behind the legal system rather that do whats right for a customer that has been loyal for 13 years.

I am not sure if this will work for an external hard drive, but it works for disk copies.

1. UNPLUG the POWER CORD (The end that is connected to the console.)

2. Wait a 15 SECONDS.

3. PLUG the POWER CORD back into the console.

4. RESTART the game.

Again, this is a fix used on disk errors. I am not sure if it will have the same effect for an issue involving an external hard drive.
