    Disk Drive Button

    Hi Everyone,

I'm posting to see if anyone else has had issues with their Xbox One disk drive not ejecting and if there are any fixes for it? It's basically a brand new console (got the Sunset Overdrive bundle last month), so I can't imagine I did anything to bust it
    yet.

I can put a disk in and it can be read perfectly fine, but my issue is when I press the eject button the disk will not eject. I've done the manual ejection of a disk and that works fine, but I cannot imagine unplugging my Xbox and pulling out a paper clip
each and every time I want to switch games. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

    :)

    Disk Drive Problem

So my disk drive is not working right anymore. It takes a couple of pushes of the button to even get it opened. I would push the button and it would just not open. What is going on with my disk drive and is their a way to fix it?

    Hey there Hartt91,

I'm sorry to hear about the disc ejecting issue. I have a couple questions to run past you to get more clarification.

    1. Does this happen with multiple game discs or just one in particular?
    2. Are you getting any error codes before or while you try to eject the disc?
After seeing that you've been doing the manually ejecting solution, I would next suggest trying out the steps:

        • Power cycle your Xbox One console.
        • Once the console is off completely, unplug all cords from your console.
        • Leave everything unplugged for a few minutes.
        • Plug your console and cords back in and turn it on.
        • Once the console is powered back on, try ejecting the disc again.
You can find these steps here in our
    support article
    if you need more information.

Post on back with the answers to the questions above, and let us know if the steps I listed do the trick for you!

Thanks for the reply Miss Diggz,

    1. I only have Halo:MCC in disk format, so I can't say for certain whether it is just the disk or not. Nothing seems out of the ordinary with the disk, but I'll try a movie or two to see if it's the disk or not.

    2. No error codes or anything. It just seems like the my console doesn't even recognize that I'm pressing the eject button.

And power cycling has no effect. I tried that multiple times before resorting to the manual ejection method.

    Thanks.

    Hey again Hartt91,

Thanks so much for posting back the additional information. I'm curious, does the console make any sort of noise when you push the eject button? Is it making a click noise or sound like there's movement going on inside that would indicate it trying to work/eject?

All in all, since you are having to manually eject a disc every time, I would recommend setting up your Xbox One console for repair. You can do so by heading over to the online service center
    here or through our
    Contact Us page.

Let us know how it goes!

No, there is absolutely no noise at all. So it seems that the button is just broken and does not allow my console to recognize that I am pressing it.

    Thank you for your help.
