    Discs not reading.


    Since the last two updates iv had problems with metal gear solid and dead rising 3 coming up saying disc scratched or needs cleaning. The only way I have found to get around this is to turn my xbox one off. Anyone else been having this problem.

    Discs not reading

    I constantly have problems with my X1 not reading game disks and have 2 methods I use that seem to work.

    Rather than selecting play game from the home page I sometimes find that by going into my games and apps and selecting the game from within this menu then enables the disk to work.

    The other method is turning off console, removing power cable, leave for 30 seconds then reboot.

    Maybe complete luck but for now these 2 methods seem to fix my disk error problems. I assume from comments that my disk drive is on the way out and will probably need fixing or replacing soon? I have another strange problem when downloading games with gold
    and when I try to play them it says that I need the disk to continue.

    I wouldn't have a clue if my disc drive is bad or not as I've never put a disc in the darn thing.

    Slightly off-topic, but spending $25 on a 3 month sub is..... really overpriced. Normally, I spend about 10-15 more dollars to get a full years worth. And spending $40 on Destiny's expansions... phew... don't get me started.

    Yeah ive got the same issue, it appears everyone in the preview updates currently have the disc reading issues. Lots of posts regarding this on the preview beta forums, microsoft are aware of the issue hopefully we will have an update that fixes it soon.

    Just like to reassure I am having the same problem as well! Mine is with Titanfall where, when in game it backs out to the dashboard. I then try load the game again and that message you get appears. Should be fixed when the official update is released.

    Mine does exactly the same, it ejects the disc then sucks it back in. When I then put any game in it says dirty disc! Only way to play is turn off/on. I've also read that this can be a permanent problem.has microsoft have to to replace some peoples consoles!!
    Hopefully not as it would be my 3rd one, argh!!

    I have same issue, spoke with MS and they advised to do hard boot and leave for 2mins which worked fine for a while. Gone back to same issue now.

    Hey guys.

    There's something up with the "Titanfall Servers" and "Fifa" and "Plants vs Zombies" are all throwing me back to the dashboard as well.

    I think it's simply a problem with LIVE rather than our systems.

    Frustrating but not the end of the world.

    Hope they get it fixed soon.

    yes i have had the same problem, ive contacted xbox support and engineers are aware of the problem and are looking into it.

    Unless things have changed without anyone telling me, Xbox 360 S consoles only have a 1 year general warranty period, and original Xbox 360 consoles have a 1 year general warranty and a 3 year warranty for the three flashing red lights and E74.

    Regardless of console, a faulty DVD drive is covered under 1 year only.

    To the original poster, make sure you test multiple discs to confirm the problem is with the console and not a specific or few specific discs. If it is your console and it's less than a year old, contact Xbox Support at 1-800-4MY-XBOX.

    Take to gamestop and see if they can buff-out the game ..That's one thing I like to get a scratched game from a friend for free cause they think it doesn't work then take it to have it get buffed, then it works and play fine like a new cd ....lol suckers!!!!

    For most games I recommend you install the game in the hard drive it makes the CD spin allot less
