    Disconnecting controller...my findings...

Hi guys, there still seems to be this problem with controllers always cutting out, despite the latest update to try and fix this. I have been on the case trying to find out what is causing this, below is what I have tried, my suspicions, and possible conclusion.

I was hours away from going to buy a new controller, as it was always cutting out, then reconnecting, over and over. The suggested actions given my Xbox support will say that if all else fails then it "must" be the controller, please buy a new one!! So
before I did that I took my controller, controller adapter and headset to a friends house to see what happened.

My friend has the same headset as me, so did a process of elimation. The game we tested it with was Destiny. So, I used their headset, their adapter but with my controller....not even a hint of any problems! 2nd scenario, their headset, my adapter, my controller...no
hint of any problems, not even on start up of destiny, no cracking or inference noises! Final scenario, my entire set up with their xbox....not a single problem, no hint what so ever that there is a problem.....and played destiny for about 45 mins to give
it a chance to cut out.....nothing what so ever!!

Now, the only difference in set up is that my friend has a wireless connection, and my Xbox is connected using power adapters. I researched problems that power adapters could cause, and yes, in some cases they have been known to interfere with some radio
signals, but nothing about other types of signals. So, I tried this, I turned off power adapters and used wireless....for the initial everything seemed fine, I actually thought I had solved it, but no, eventually the controller cut out again! The only other
difference was that I live in a apartment, my friend is in a dethatched house, thinking that if it was a power adherer, someone else might us ethem and cause interference, but each apartment has its own separate power supply, so I guess it rules that out,
    but cant confirm.

The other thing I tried my turning all blue tooth signals off from mobile phones, in some cases there are long periods of times when the controller does not cut out....but eventually it will. So that theory must be ruled out. This was also tested on my friend
xbox, we had several phone within close proximity.

    .

    :)

Now i have trouble with the controller icons finding my sons with the kinect sometimes but other than that the disconnecting only happens when the battery dies. Im sure a patch would fix this though...

    Disconnecting controller...my findings...

Just to add, as the message was *** up as I typed....the only last thing to try is going to be to test my friends set up on my xbox, this will be happening this weekend. However the out come I will post up later this weekend.

In conclusion, I suscpect something within my apartment is causing interfence between the single from the xbox to the controller/headset adapter. Or.....it could be a problem with the actual xbox. In which case, if so many people are reporting this problem,
there could be a lot of faulty xbox ones out there with this same problem!!

    Will post findings shortly.

    THanks Disconnecting controller...my findings... :)

  5. Could it be your router? I am having headset issues. And I didn't before, when I was on the road for a long period of time and bought an xbox one. Once I got home, my headset stopped working properly.

Unrelated issue, I know. But my conclusion is that the problem is either my xbox, or my router (and whatever configuration it has).

My process of elimination will be to take my xbox to a family member's house and try all of my accessories with their xbox. Then I'll try hooking up my xbox to their router and see if I have the same issue. If there are no issues there, it must be my router,
    it's an older router.

I'll also be able to figure out if it's my accessories, or if it's just my xbox. I really hope it's not my xbox.

But even still, if the xbox one is having issues with certain routers, that's a big problem in itself.

Thanks for the input Panther, its got be something, just trying to wittle it down.

Heres what happened today any my findings:-

So got a friends controller and adapter and connected it up to my xbox, using my headphones....worked fine, not even a hint of any problems! I swapped over battery packs, still using my friend controller, and worked fine, then swapped over headset adapters,
still using friend controller, and not even a slight hint of any problems, no interference, or cutting out. Played destiny for a good hour with out any cutting out.

I then swapped my controller over, all my set up etc, and can you believe it....no problems!! Played destiny for about 40 mins, did a few strikes no cutting out!! There was once a very slight crackle, but controller didn't cut out!

Perhaps it is just the controller, or perhaps connecting up a second controller to my Xbox has pulled the settings inline, I really don't know. Going to play over the weekend to see if it cuts out again, if it does I will get a brand new controller and
    see what the outcome is.

Will update later on over this weekend.

    [Solved] Xbox controllers disconnecting

Thanks, CristofKaiser, indeed with a brand new controller it keeps disconnecting, so it's not the controller. [Update:] now the controllers work on my PC, but still no news on the Xbox One.

I'll keep you posted if I find a solution.

    Anyone else ?
