  1. Disconnecting an external hard drive while having paused downloads present

    Hi guys,

So I have a 41GB download in progress that is currently at 45%. Due to certain reasons I am in the process of preparing to pack up and relocate my Xbox console to another site and have subsequently paused the download at 45%. Now
my question is in regards to disconnecting the external hard drive that is partaking in the download. If I have paused the download is it safe to fully shut down the console, disconnect the external hard drive (with the suspended download) and reconnect it
at the new site without any data loss/corruption on the aforementioned download? Initially I tried a simple Google search on the topic but was unsuccessful on finding a solution so I have come here to the Forum to see if anyone has an option on this. Thank
you in advance, in case anyone is wondering the hard drive is a WD Elements 4TB External Desktop Hard Drive (AC powered of course). Cheers!

    :)

  2. Tv configuration App Not working

Having the same issues. Could be something to do with the external hard drive maybe, not had time to troubleshoot yet though.

    Some ideas to try maybe?

    1. Make the Xbox One drive the primary drive, while the external drive is still plugged in

    2. Try with the external hard drive unplugged

No idea if this will make a difference, but this issue only started for me since I got an external drive. Unless others are having the same issue with no external hard drive?

More than just a gaming console

Hi all, new to forum, need to ask about external hard drives. We have the slim 360 250gb model. Now say I am up to about level 5 in a game and I want to go to a mates place and he has the same game.

Will any external hard drive be able to be connected to the USB port on the back of my Xbox and the my profile or game level downloaded to the drive, then I can just take the drive to avmates place, plug in and play when he puts the game disk in. Will i still be on the same level and then when I return home, can I download the level I amat from my mates onto my hard drive.....

If so what external hard drive would be the best and if not what do you recommend.

    Cheers

  4. Disconnecting an external hard drive while having paused downloads present

Go to "My Games & Apps", find your game in the download queue, and pause it (press "(≡)" and find the pause option).

Now, you can turn everything off and pack up. Once you get connected to the other place's internet, you can resume the download.

Updating a game causes me to have to reinstall the ENTIRE THING

If the external hard drive is the possible cause then try and update something while the hard drive is disconnected.

It may be that your game is on the external hard drive but your default location for downloading games in your internal hard drive so when it goes to update it can't find the game as it isn't in the default location. If this is the case you would need to
make sure that the games being updated are on the internal hard drive before updating.

    Problema wireless

Ciao prova a fare questo se hai un hard disk

Wireless Networking: You may be unable to detect wireless networks with an external hard drive attached.

Workaround: While the console is off, disconnect the external hard drive, power on the console, connect to the wireless network, and reconnect the external hard drive.

    External Hard Drive issues

I was having issues like this as well, and I noticed that I one of my battlefield DLC's was present on both my hard drive and console, and it was kind of stuck installing one of them permanently. So I powered down my Xbox, disconnected the hard drive, and
deleted the dup from my console. then i reconnected the hard drive and deleted the DLC from it. I re-downloaded it, and it installed to my external, and everything seems to be working better. You might want to look into it.

Help,my Xbox has turned on me

If you have an external hard drive connected via USB disconnected and it performs a power cycle, check for the same error without connecting the external hard drive
