"Disconnected from Xbox Live" - only when playing multiplayer-type scenarios

I got this problem too on black ops 2 It gives a message saying cppchrisipy signed out then I have to log back in. Which is very annoying I'm even starting to get used to it I think the answer is to check the ip signals then reset your internet router

I am experiencing the same exact issue that you are and have tried all of the same steps. I have even or my xbox360 in the dmz to no avail. I have disabled the firewall, tried wired and wireless. Reset the router, called my provider and had them reset it,
and port forwarded. This has been going on for a month. I use xfinity on a technicolor tc8305c gateway.

Hey Da Big Pank!

There are some known issues with the Technicolor TC8305C gateway causing disconnections.

I'm afraid there's no confirmed fix, and the best solution seems to be to replace the gateway with a different model that doesn't have these issues.

Been getting the same issue myself, been happening since the networks were taken down for the matchmaking fix they did the week before, guess they forgot to plug the xbox hamster back in that keeps live working

Not yet. I was trying to play with a friend on the opposite coast. No joke, since I posted that message I've more or less been unable to connect.

I even bothered to clear the cache and re-download my profile to no avail.

360 is plugged directly into the Ubee. I removed it from the internal network.

Ubee is not in Bridge mode. Charter said there are no firewall rules enabled on it. They (firewall) are my responsibility to erect between my network(s) and the Ubee.

What's weird to me, and was reaffirmed after a bit of testing. I'll get the "Disconnected from Xbox Live" message and sometimes won't get the "[username] signed out of Xbox Live". Conversely, if I physically interrupt the connection (unplug ethernet cable)
I always get the "[username] signed out of Xbox Live" message instead of the disconnected one.

In fact, sometimes when I'm "Disconnected from Xbox Live" it doesn't even sign out my username or show on the popup menu or dashboard that I need to sign in to live. I can still access my friends lists and such. It's almost like I'm getting disconnected
from the game server part of live. If I'm in a party or private chat that doesn't get disbanded or ended when I get the disconnected message.
