"Disconnected due to an Unknown Error" Xbox Box Live

Hello, I have been receiving this error message for a few months now while I play GTA5.

I ended up selling my Xbox 360 thinking it was a system issue and bought an Xbox One. I am still getting the same error now. I have spoken with Xbox Support and my IP. I have opened all of my ports on my internet modem as well. It seems that Xbox points
the finger at Rockstar and Rockstar points the finger at my IP and my IP points their finger at the Xbox system. It has been a vicious cycle and it appears many others are experiencing this as well.

I usually get the error when I am loading a mission or when I have completed a mission and am loading the free mode or another mission. I have to turn off the Xbox One and wait for about 5 minutes other wise it gives me the same error immediately.

I have never experienced this issue until around August when Xbox sent out an update for the Xbox Ones which reading other blogs seemed to have caused the initial issues.

Any ideas? I am not an expert with the connections, etc, but I am willing to try anything to get this issue to stop.

Do you get it in any other game or just GTAV?

If it is just GTA then Rockstar may be able to help.

However, one thing to try before you go that route, is to update firmware on your modem and router.

You can log in to your Router/Modem from a connected PC and they tend to have a "Check for Updates" option on their administration panel. Simply search for your modem/router manufacturer if you aren't sure how to log in to the admin panel of the device(s)
as each one is different.
