Disc Wont Load - FIX

For those of you who are experiencing an error when your game suddenly won't read your discs anymore, I may have a fix for you. I just got off the phone with a very friendly agent from Xbox Support who helped me fix this issue. It worked for me but I cannot
promise it will do the same for you.

Before we begin, the support agent and I were discussing the idea that this problem could be a result of participating the most recent Beta preview update. Because this was not something that was an issue before the update rolled out.

This was the fix that helped for me:

1. Remove any discs from the console.

2. Hold the power button down on your XB1 console for 10 seconds so that it shuts off completely.

3. Unplug EVERYTHING from your console (Power, HDMI, Kinect, Cable, Ethernet, etc.)

4. Unplug your power brick from the WALL as well.

5. Your power bricks light should be lit up orange. We want to wait for that light to turn off (may take a few minutes to drain).

6. Once the light turns off and your brick is completely out of juice, go ahead and plug everything back into your console and start it back up.

7. Insert your game disc and hopefully it will be working probably. This is what worked for me!

Anyway, I hope this helps. Thank you XBOX support for fixing this for me. Your agent was awesome. That being said, fix this glitch/issue asap!

Disc reading troubles

My xbox wont read any of my discs, when I put a disc in, it makes noises and then says open tray, after a few times, it will say unrecognisable disc but none of my game will actually load up, it sometimes makes the noise that usually happens when a game
is loading up but will then say open tray/unrecognisable disc, anything I can do to fix this without having to spend loads of money?

Thank you for the quick response, i just erased everything off of my hard drive and started again, it installed AC3 fine but then came up saying unrecognized disc, clicking open tray and closing again the problem went away. It is only happening on these
two games, every other game i own is working fine. I feel like there is a bug in the software because ive seen this alot about random games not reading. but oh well i can live until next gen.

As for the grey background it does go through, takes about 2 minutes, hearing people are reporting that makes me a little happier as to its not just me, hopefully microsoft will patch it soon if its a big enough issue.

Luckily for me, all I have to do is reset my Xbox and it has been working to fix this issue.

 

I'm also on the Beta for updates and have had this happen to me when switching between games. A hard reboot does always fix this for me, but I also wanted it to stop ocurring. From what I've experienced (errors when switching games) the problem seemed
to be with the "Quickly Resume Game" option that can be found in Xbox Settings -> Power On/Startup Options. I disabled this feature and haven't had the issue since.

Hopefully this will work for others in the short term,but I hope Microsoft is working on a fix because it seems like a useful feature.
