    Disc vs Download

Soul.. I know quite well how to use the XB1 and all of its features.. thank you for answering a question that was not asked...... I am answering the post before me... with sarcasm that you obviously did not get... to the previous poster before me that said...

Confrimedturnip: I would've thought the download would be smaller; optimised for space. But reading this thread has given me more questions. Like; Why I can't swap between games I've installed via disc? There's little difference. Also why are digital games
the same price as they are in the shops?

It will be physical game disks for me as Xbox one games are massive and will chew up the download quota.

    Disc vs. Download

disc you get to trade in for pennies on the dollar when you are no longer playing it... saves bandwidth for people with data caps on the internet

Digital you get fast switch... game sharing, discless play (no matter where you are, friends house etc.. you do not need the disc)

And TBH... even with the Externals... you still need the disc in the tray if the game in on an external... if it was digital... grab EVERY GAME you have and hot the road

you can "xbox home" share with digital's and share with your family that way. But if you get banned for any random reason your games just dissapear i assume?

    Disc vs. Download

Well say you buy Evolve digitally. You play it for a week or two then get bored of it. You're stuck with it. Now, take that same scenario, but with a disc and you can still get 30 to 40 euro for it.

If you're getting pennies to the dollar, then don't wait 3 years to trade it in and by no means should you take it to Gamestop. There are a gazillion other ways to sell your games instantly when you are finished.

If the X1 had a 6 disc changer I would go back to disc's..... but it is sooooo easy to say "Xbox, play _______"....

  10. If you get tired of a digital game, you can simply delete it from your HDD. Also, MS has stated in the past that they are looking into a way for us to be able to resell our digital games (although even I would take that with a grain of salt).

Also, I used Craig's List to sell some of my 360 games for 1/3 of the price a mere 6 months after release and although what I got in return WAS better than what I would've gotten from Gamestop, I only sold 3 of the games of the 10 or so I initially wanted
to sell (in other words, make sure you're selling something that people want).

The only way a digital sales would happen is a transfer of ownership or a credit towards MS cash.. in theory not that hard to do. my name gets removed from the digital license and the new owner gets theirs put there.. I think the issue is money, locations
and way to make it easy to use..cant be direct sales to the customer... no money for XB and then they cannot dictate a price... and why would XB purchase back a used game to sell it for less than a new one IF there are no such thing as "used" digital content.

Its a hard street to drive on... I want the ability to trade digital sales... but it will not bother me if it never happens

The only reason console games have a resale value, is because they are over priced, drop the price inline with PC and the resale market would drop through the floor.

One way they could make more money is by selling digital through a tax haven, and they will save thousands on tax as well.

    Disc vs. Download

Issue with that Enen, I do not think digtial media falls under that tax rule. As it is now... all internet sales for goods are tax exempt IF the company you are buying it from does not have a tax ID # from that state (meaning an outlet, store etc). MS I
am sure has some type of MS store in each state, therefore taxes.. then again.. we are talking sales tax and MS does not pay that to the IRS.. we do

@tohe tax is regional based, in the UK there is Tax on digital products.

As a business if you hit the VAT cap (sales tax cap) in any country your supposed to then pay that countries VAT, now since its digital you could argue that they purchased the item in the country the new tax exempt store would be.

Looks like Europe has already thought about it:
