  1. Disc vs Download?

This is question I've had for a while. Do games run better if you download them straight from the marketplace, or get a disc and install it? The reason I'm asking this in the BF4 forums is because I plan on getting this and would prefer it run as smoothly
    as possible.

    :)

  2. Digital Vs. Physical

Disc = 1 set of pros vs cons

Digital = Another set of pros vs cons

Which do you prefer = people bickering over petty differences in their preferences.

  3. Day One Games and day one digital release

The game disc has ALLWAYS been required to be in the drive, so what does this have to do with digital vs disc?

  4. Disc vs Download?

Ive never digitally purchased a game, but I think you have to "install" disc anyways (download them too). Another choice maker is you would have a disc to sell used next year, because I dunno if they buy back digital games.

  5. They don't buy back digital games.

With most 360 games, you always had the option to install it to your hard drive and that would make it run a bit better. BF4 might be different because it's next gen. I honestly don't know.

I never resell my old games. Now that you mention it, I probably should.

  6. Now that you mention it, I think someone did say they buy back digital games, somehow.

  7. No. I'm talking about going into the Xbox marketplace and buying the game online. Not getting one of those digital download things from WalMart.

    El negro -

Running the game from DVD is slow and process-intensive compared to copying it to your xbox, which stores it on the hardrive. to get information for the game the xbox has to spin the disc, read what it needs, copy it to the harddrive, and then copy it to
RAM so the CPU and GPU can access it. copying a game to your system eliminates the first step, making the game play smoother and the system not have to work so hard. whether the game comes from the marketplace or DVD doesn't matter; they both get copied
to the drive and then are played the same way.

  9. Yeah, I always download CoD and BFs to my HDD, but I was talking about buying a game from XBL Marketplace (digitally downloading one) and I do believe they do buy them back somehow. Ive never done it, but I have had this conversation with someone before
whom stated there is a type of "buy back" policy.

That's nice. Too bad what you said had nothing to do with Jim's question.

  12. Best bet is to buy the physical game (disc) and install it. That way you are reading data from the disc and its on the hard drive so its accessed even faster. Digital games, it ALL have to run from your hard drive (disk). Might as well be firing on both
    cylinders an optimize speed.

Wrong. the media you copy from has nothing to do at all with the performance of the game once copied to your hardrive. As far as the source goes, it is either a valid source and successfully copies, or an invalid source and does not.

  14. I think I answered the question. Or at least I stated I DL disc to my HDD. I also gave a question about the buy back DLs. All that was on topic unless I missed something?
