    Disc tray wont open or close


    I've had my xbox 360 6+ years. Disc tray wont open or close. And no audible motor when eject attempted.

    I've taken apart and dusted, rubber band replaced, and I'm desperate for another alternative to fix. It used to stick without a game in but I could get it to pop out. Now it will not open or close. Is it possible the motors burnt out?

    REPEAT FOREVER AND EVER

    Basically, the xbox is ALWAYS in a state of opening the disc tray. As soon as the tray finishes closing, the xbox opens it again. It will never even begin to try and read the disc that you slip in.

    I got this xbox on black Friday last year.

    I'm in Korea right now so I'm not shipping the stupid thing back.

    No *** answers please, I don't have time for them. A *** answer would be something like "check the grounding" or "clean the touch sensor."

    Xbox will randomly shut off

    Clarification: After a closer examination, the beeping switched back and forth between the disc tray noise and power switch noise no matter if its on or off. Also those two buttons will make their noise if touched (sometimes) but neither will respond (EX:
    the disc tray wont open/close with the botton and the Xbox wont turn on or off with the button).

    If your Xbox 360 is stuck close, check out the steps to
    manually eject the disc tray    . Unfortunately it sounds like your console would need to be repaired or replaced. If you've already self-repaired your console it would not be under warranty and we recommend purchasing a new console.

    It wont read discs at all? Here is a trick you might not have heard yet. Open and close the disc tray but not all the way. Open it and close it like 20 times. Then tell me if your disc is unreadable :)

    Just dropped my controller on my disc drive while swapping games. The discs are fine but the disc tray must have been wiggled out of place because now it wont close. When I finally got it to close it doesn't read discs or open up without me using something
    to pry it open. any help?

    Kind of sounds like the power light is acting as if the disc tray is trying to open/close. Have you tried opening and closing the tray a few times to see if the blinking subsides?
