    Disc tray grind / unable to read disc


    I've been having this problem for a while . Where my disc are unable to be read by my Xbox one.

    Been problem shooting it by angling my Xbox at a 25 degree angle. To have gravity help pull it in all the way to read. However, this only works 20% of the try's.

    Sounds like this has been a problem for a while.

    Console grinds when disc inserted

    My main question is. Why should I have to pay 125 dollars to get something fixed that sounds like a manufacturing problem that's experienced by a majority of users ?!?

    xbox 360 dying?

    My xbox is now freezing frequently and the disc tray always says open tray when there is a game inside and sometimes it says unable to read disc when its in mint condition, is it dead or dying? help needed

    REPEAT FOREVER AND EVER

    Basically, the xbox is ALWAYS in a state of opening the disc tray. As soon as the tray finishes closing, the xbox opens it again. It will never even begin to try and read the disc that you slip in.

    I got this xbox on black Friday last year.

    I'm in Korea right now so I'm not shipping the stupid thing back.

    No *** answers please, I don't have time for them. A *** answer would be something like "check the grounding" or "clean the touch sensor."

    xbox making one second grind noise randomly

    This sounds like what happened to my fat 360. As it aged it started having trouble reading discs. I would put a disc in the tray, close it, then the console would emit a loud grinding noise for about a half-second and not read anything. I think what happens
    is the mechanism that moves the laser wears down over time. Occasionally it would then come loose, causing the gears to grind and stop the laser from moving. A similar thing happens to the tray itself. Do you have trouble opening and closing the disc tray?

    One x on a vertical stand? Ment the manual say against it?

    I've considered getting a vertical stand, but from my understanding... it is not recommended to use discs and/or disc tray while the console is in a vertical position. I've read countless reviews stating this, claiming disc tray malfunctions, a "grinding"
    sound while disc loading, causing damage to discs etc.

    However, Microsoft includes this vertical stand with various console bundles and also has it available to be purchased separately. Which makes me question if the above mentioned "reviews" are legitimate....

    Anyone here currently using the vertical stand(OneS or OneX) and discs as well, what has your experience been?
