    Disc reading


    Hello all;

    whenever i turn on my xbox console and try to load a game that is on a disc, I get an error message that says “cannot read disc...”. If I restart the console and try it again the disc reads fine. Anyone experience this and got a way to resolve this issue?

    Unless things have changed without anyone telling me, Xbox 360 S consoles only have a 1 year general warranty period, and original Xbox 360 consoles have a 1 year general warranty and a 3 year warranty for the three flashing red lights and E74.

    Regardless of console, a faulty DVD drive is covered under 1 year only.

    To the original poster, make sure you test multiple discs to confirm the problem is with the console and not a specific or few specific discs. If it is your console and it's less than a year old, contact Xbox Support at 1-800-4MY-XBOX.

    Take to gamestop and see if they can buff-out the game ..That's one thing I like to get a scratched game from a friend for free cause they think it doesn't work then take it to have it get buffed, then it works and play fine like a new cd ....lol suckers!!!!

    ^^I agree. He said his Xbox that isnt updated, LOL. Probably a Jtag hes trying to get online with. He probably bought a banned Xbox from online or something.

    For most games I recommend you install the game in the hard drive it makes the CD spin allot less
