Disc reading issues and controller drift

I have two issues:

Xbox one Console: I often have to put in a disc multiple times to get the console to begin reading it and playing it. It happens more with games than movies, but it does happen with both. For instance, I just had to put in the “Mad Max” game disc
seven times in a row (waiting for about ten seconds between each attempt) before the machine recognized and began reading it.

Xbox controllers: I own two. The one that came with the console began having the right thumbstick drift downward to the point where it became unusable. I bought a replacement controller and it does the exact same thing only with the left thumbstick
drifting upward. Basically, if I’m playing a game, my character runs forward when I don’t want them to. If I’m watching a show, my controller acts as if I’m pushing “up” which brings up a menu constantly.

I addressed these two issues with a Microsoft representative via chat. She basically told me there was no recourse other than that I shell out $115 (console) + $60 (+tax) for a new controller. If that is the only solution offered by Microsoft, I can’t abide
those business practices. I’ve used Xbox consoles since the original, went through three “Red rings of death” on the 360, and I’m now having to replace an expensive disc drive and pricey controllers on a bi-annual basis. Where, in all of that, is the incentive
to stick with Microsoft? For a bit more than is being asked, I can swap to Microsoft’s greatest competitor and just be done with it. Was the person in live chat correct? Is this my only solution? I really can’t believe this is how things are handled by the
same company that took back and returned my console three times when it got RRoD at no charge to me.

Disc reading issues.

To clarify, if you recently purchased you Xbox One, it may be quicker to exchange it at the retailer. I would check in with the store you purchase for before shipping off your console.

You should receive instructions to your e-mail with steps on how to ship your Xbox One. You would need to take the parcel to the depot that the included shipping label is intended for.

 

Disc reading issues.

Ok so I have now done a reset. Still 360 games are not working also tried DVD and CD and now they both don't work.

 

Hi there I have the same problem and found what seems like a very good solution. When inserting a disc into the Xbox let the drive grab the cd, hold it for at least one to two seconds your gonna feel it tug and then let go, it has worked for me 100% every
time so far, I found this out by accident, I just figured the drive was a little off, good luck!
