    Disc Reading Error


    So I believe I'm not the only one who's had this problem. I originally purchased my Xbox One in the fall of 2013. Occasionally the Xbox would not read my game discs, maybe one every few attempts, but I left it alone. It persisted of the course of the year
    following the purchase but never got worse so I left it alone because I figured it would be fine. However, recently my Xbox hasn't been reading discs at all. The last time it took me 45 minutes to get it to read my disc. I know that this problem is common
    in the original Xbox Ones, so I wanted to know what I could do. This isn't something I did, it seems to be a defect in some of the oroginal Xbox Ones. My warranty on the consol is up i believe, but since this isn't something I did myself, can something be
    done about it? I have a stack of games that I can't play, and I'd love to spend more time on them.

    Literally so sick and tired of paying for repairs on my xbox. $100 it does not cost that much money to repair a disc tray error on an xbox. So fed up with this company.

    You may have to buy a disk replacement repair it could be faulty or if its just a certain disk try installing it and if it only fails on one disk it deffinetly needs a disk replacement.

    Other than paying Microsoft to repair it at an extortionate price then there's nothing you can do.

    Even if you did the chances are it would fail again within a few months in my experience.

    My day one console has had 4 disc drive failures even though it was meant to of been repaired.Bought a 1tb & guess what,the disc drive failed so I returned the console & got a refund this time.

    The disc drives in the earlier consoles are crap.

    Not sure if they improved in the xbox one s but i'm reluctant to shell out on another console only for it to break again.

    No disc read errors. Just backcompat error. Disc 1 reads and installs fine. There are not deviations on any of the discs. Just two and three won't work.

    If you are getting a disc read error message, try your game out on another Xbox 360. This will tell you if it is an issue with the disc itself, or the console. Disc read errors are a physical issue, clearing cache would not help with that.

    I agree. Do not break the tamper seals on your xbox! This will not only void the warrenty but it will make it so you can never send it in for repair by Microsoft again! Not only that but if you ever get the disk drive replaced by a third party, they dont
    have the means to make the disk drive serial and the xbox serial match, which can and has resulted in a console ban.
