    My xbox one is a month out of warranty, and it wont read a disc. so now you want me to pay you 115 dollars, when I had the exact same issue on a 2nd xbox one a couple months ago.

    I just want to say this is BS, 2 consoles same issues, and I am sure I can count a bunch more people having/had the same issue.

    Hmmm... in order to do that though I'd need to remove the current System Update, which I'd need the button combination from Xbox Support to do. I'll call and inquire when the drive gets worse.

    Just to update, I tried with a basic movie DVD (Big Fish) and it worked fine no issues.

    Since Xbox 360 games are on a DVD, I thought they'd read the same. Any difference (excluding the extra lair DVD's newer games come on)?

    Sorry to hear it. See if these steps solve the problem for you

    1. Go to Settings

    2. Go to Disc & Blu Ray

    3. Uncheck Enable BD Live

    4. Click Clear Persistent Storage and Clear it 3 times

    5. Hold the Power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down.

    Hopefully that will solve the issue. If it does not then you'll need to send it in for repair.

    Thanks for the reply, that did not seem to work. But was does work 100% of the time so far is



    I have tried 4 different games multiple times.

    Still think it a crap that they want more money to fix an obvious issue with the hardware/software

    I'm happy that worked for you but you need to be careful as doing that could scratch the disc.

    Heya APEX ASSASSlN.

    To clarify, if you recently purchased you Xbox One, it may be quicker to exchange it at the retailer. I would check in with the store you purchase for before shipping off your console.

    You should receive instructions to your e-mail with steps on how to ship your Xbox One. You would need to take the parcel to the depot that the included shipping label is intended for.

    Ok so I have now done a reset. Still 360 games are not working also tried DVD and CD and now they both don't work.

    No the console ain't in the preview. But I have just signed it up to. To see if this is the cause.

    Thanks for trying the steps. Are you in the Xbox One Preview program by chance on either console? Does the console need an update if you check?

    You can find out by doing these steps.

    1. Scroll left from Home to open the guide.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Select All Settings.
    4. Select System.
    5. Select Console info & updates.
