    Disc read errors, again.


    So, my console is on its way back to Mexico for yet another repair. This is the 3rd in the 9 months I am sending it back for the same issue, the 0x80820002 error trying to read a disc. I was told it was a firmware issue with the drive last time, but thats
    obviously not true. This time, the guy was clueless as to why it wasn't working.

    I'm disgusted by the lack of support from Xbox. Fix it or replace it. By the time I get this one back, I will have been without it for a total of over 2 months. This is 3 weeks each time I have sent it out. I almost feel like I'm being made fun of when the
    twitter support accounts tell me that they "got my back".. if you had my back you would have fixed my console one of the other times I sent it in. If you had my back, you would have done something to make this right.

    I returned all of the Xbox One games I had got for the kids for Christmas because it does them no good. I'm not going to let them open something they cant use and I'm not going to give it to them later. I bought a PS4 last night and the games they wanted
    which we should have been playing on my Xbox.

    I'm ranting because I can't believe how poorly Xbox is treating its fans and supporters.

    Yea i phoned Support so have been sent all the UPS info etc; just need to get a box and get it ready for collection!

    I bought a dvd disc cleaner from Tescos for about £6 when I got disc read errors, never had the issue since, that was 6 months ago

    Disc read errors, again.

    I have had two separate Xbox Ones with this problem, my original and the replacement they sent me. It hasn’t even been a year. I have over $70 dollars shipping my nonfunctional Xbox One stuff to be repaired or replaced. I agree this is getting old.

    The November update did this to many consoles but they seem to think it's not related to the software but it 100% is.

    Well why not do an advanced replacement, to tell you the truth I never trust companies trying to repair a broken product. With an advanced replacement you will get a new Xbox one in 2 days in my experience and then you send your broken one back in the box
    the replacement came in. They will need a credit card to put a 450$ hold on your credit card but mine was lifted within a week.

    NEVER DO STANDARD REPLACEMENT...... Always Advanced Replacement, you will have to call 1800-4MY-XBOX and request the Advnced Replacement because they never mention it.

    Hi,

    What storage device did you move it to?

    When you download it again, did you download to the original storage device (the one that was working) or the one you moved it to?

    As for the disc read error, that's easy to explain. The Xbox 360 operating system is quite basic and doesn't have an error message for issues reading hard drives or flash drives. So, it will always give a disc read error, even if the content is not actually
    on an optical disc.
