Discus and support Disc read error? in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; My Xbox One has been having a weird issue. When I put in Blu-rays and Xbox One games, a message pops up and it says sorry we can't play that disc....     Disc read error?


    My Xbox One has been having a weird issue. When I put in Blu-rays and Xbox One games, a message pops up and it says sorry we can't play that disc. It does play DVDs perfectly though. I've tried different games/movies as well as power cycling the system
    and nothing works except for DVDs. Is there anything else I can try to fix it or should I contact Microsoft?

    So your assertion is that other consumers posting disc read errors are statistical anomalies and not the norm. They'll be glad to hear that, I'm sure. Meanwhile, they're spending their entertainment dollars elsewhere while the Xbox team laments the unforeseen
    consequences of mass production. The Assassins Creed game I recently purchased runs just fine and didn't come in a green case.

    There is no legal way to do this. You must have the disk to play the game even is it it downloaded to the HDD. The only exception is if the game was "On Demand" in the Marketplace. But even then you would need to pay for it.

    I would contact Microsoft. Out of curiosity is your console a day one edition?

    No disc read errors. Just backcompat error. Disc 1 reads and installs fine. There are not deviations on any of the discs. Just two and three won't work.

    I agree. Do not break the tamper seals on your xbox! This will not only void the warrenty but it will make it so you can never send it in for repair by Microsoft again! Not only that but if you ever get the disk drive replaced by a third party, they dont
    have the means to make the disk drive serial and the xbox serial match, which can and has resulted in a console ban.

    I agree that installing the disk to the hard drive would be the best if it will allow you to. Highlight the "play game" icon and install to hard drive. Although, if other disks aren't working then its probably not the disk itself but the system cache or
    your profile itself. I would first clear the system cache (system settings > storage > highlight storage device and press Y, then select "clear system cache" using the A button. Also while you are in there, check for corrupt files in the hard drive (most likely
    in the games and apps folder). If that doesnt work try deleting your profile (PROFILE ONLY) and redownloading it using your MS acct and PW. Sometimes a corrupt profile can cause similar issues.

    Please let me know if any of these suggestions work.
