    Disc read error


    Okay so I rented a brand new copy of advanced warfare and I downloaded the 2 install packs to my had and when I go to play the campaign it says that the disc is unreadable and to clean it and restart system after doing this it still says the same thing
    anyone else having this problem? I took it back exchanged it and still get the message also deleted had packs reloaded them and still it says the same thing any help guys

    Disc read error on downloaded games?

    While playing Ghosts I'm constantly kicked from games with the message 'Disc read error imagefile10'. How is there a disc read error if there's no disc?

    Faulty kinect and now console in the first 2 weeks of ownership!

    Just my luck eh?
    Just sent back a faulty kinect yesterday after I received my advance replacement and now today I've got disc read errors and none of my game discs can be read by the console. Add to that a nice circular mark around my Just Dance disc that was in the tray when I first got the error.
    So, a faulty kinect and a faulty console in just over 2 weeks of ownership! Disc read error :(

    yup, me as well. replaced the disc etc. also i have installed it on the HDD, so i know it is not a read error. i have cleared the cache etc.

    remove the hard drive, then erase the system cache, this will erase corrupted files from the game update, which is a special factor in why your console can't read the discs

    Same issue here. I used to be able to join a designated DLC from a drop down menu after I signed in. But it seems, fter the xbox live updates in August, there are no individual selections And, I have been basically unable to join DLC 3 & 4. I've deleted
    all COD files from my HD and re-downloaded. I also have cleared the cache numerous times but am still having the same problems. There is no easy way to get my money back otherwise I would....this is frustrating and more reason to buy PS4.

    No disc read errors. Just backcompat error. Disc 1 reads and installs fine. There are not deviations on any of the discs. Just two and three won't work.

    I agree. Do not break the tamper seals on your xbox! This will not only void the warrenty but it will make it so you can never send it in for repair by Microsoft again! Not only that but if you ever get the disk drive replaced by a third party, they dont
    have the means to make the disk drive serial and the xbox serial match, which can and has resulted in a console ban.

    Disc read errors

    I agree that installing the disk to the hard drive would be the best if it will allow you to. Highlight the "play game" icon and install to hard drive. Although, if other disks aren't working then its probably not the disk itself but the system cache or
    your profile itself. I would first clear the system cache (system settings > storage > highlight storage device and press Y, then select "clear system cache" using the A button. Also while you are in there, check for corrupt files in the hard drive (most likely
    in the games and apps folder). If that doesnt work try deleting your profile (PROFILE ONLY) and redownloading it using your MS acct and PW. Sometimes a corrupt profile can cause similar issues.

    Please let me know if any of these suggestions work.
