Disc Read Error, Random Freezes and Restarts, Random Shutdowns - What's going on?

Problem 1: I am not able to install discs, (COD:AW, Farcry4, JustDance 2014/2015)

Problem 2: The console just sucks up the disc, and does not detect it, I have to try this at least 10 times to get it detected.

Problem 3: Xbox One shuts off randomly while watching videos on Youtube or netflix, or while playing games

Problem 4: My xbox one console is unusable for majority of time since these errors prevent/kill any interest in playing games/watching videos

Problem 5: Contacted xbox one support team, they ask for shipping charge for a replacement! why should I pay for no fault of mine?

Problem 6: Xbox support asks me to be without console for almost a month for having free shipping.

Problem 7: They do not provide compensation for all the headache and frustration!

Microsoft, you can do better! Hope to get a proper response from the Xbox team!

    :)

Xbox One X shutting down mulitple times over the last week or more, then today restarted to Start Up error...

Didn't help... had another random shutdown. Had a 'cannot read game content' error playing Destiny 2. Had an E200 error. Video went black.

I do believe I have more issues than just game/app issues.

    Thanks for your assistance.

My XB1 sometimes doesn't read discs...

Once in a while my XB1 won't read the disc...

-happens to random games (not disc-specific)
-I pop the disc out and back in and it will then work
-Only started happening since the most recent console update (I think)
-XB1 is fairly new (got it in March), but it's gotten heavy usage

Should I be worried this is going to get worse? Or is it possibly just a glitch or error?

The same thing is starting to happen to mine. It started with Hulu and Netflix not wanting to run as smooth now games are not wanting to work at all.

Hi Fragger and McSheA! This may not be related to your problem at all, but I'm going to put it out there, because it's something I've seen quite frequently. Do you have your Xboxes plugged into a power strip/surge protector, or directly to the wall?

Here's a potential problem - and if this doesn't apply to you, please disregard - the Xbox power supply already has a bulit-in surge protector to protect against things like lightning strikes, etc. It is configured in such a way that the Xbox gets the extra
power it needs during its startup routines. However, when plugged into another surge protector, it now gives two layers of surge protection, which effectively chokes the power supply that the system desperately needs for its various components to work properly.
This can lead to anything from failure of individual components (like disc drives) to complete system failure (especially the longer the system is plugged in this way.) This was one of the leading causes of RRoD on the Xbox 360, and the Xbox One's power supply
    is configured similarly.

If you are plugged into a surge protector, the first thing to do is hard shut down your system (hold the power sensor for 8-10 seconds) and unplug for 5 minutes. Then, plug directly into a wall socket and power your system up. See what happens. Unfortunately,
if you plug into the wall and still have issues, I'm afraid that a repair or replacement is going to be the only solution. I know it's a frustrating process and is hard to wait, I had to endure it 3 times with my 360.

    Random disc read errors

same thing happened to me a few times. it seems to only happen randomly when switching discs. I think what happened is that this system wasn't meant to do a lot of things but ppl complained about the drm feature that they had to add in a lot of work a rounds.

    Random disc-read errors.

Yeah, mine's installed too, which confuses me even more. Once the game boots up, it's fine. I don't get errors in-game. It's just that it takes awhile for my POS 360 to read it.
