    Disc read error on downloaded games?


    While playing Ghosts I'm constantly kicked from games with the message 'Disc read error imagefile10'. How is there a disc read error if there's no disc?

    Disc read error on downloaded game.

    I downloaded Ninja Gaiden Black and started to play only to find that I got a disc read error before the opening cutscene ended. Obviously there's no problem with the disc, as there is no disc. I've already deleted the game and re-downloaded it to no avail.
    Any suggestions? Would support give me my points back if this doesn't work?

    Disc read error on downloaded game?!

    I recently purchased Bully Scholarship edition since it was dirt cheap and I really enjoy the game. I got to the Dean's office for the first time and the game froze with the error "disc read error: please close tray or clean disc." I rebooted my system and
    tried the game again, this time it didn't make it through the opening cinematic before getting the same error! Ummm, I'm no rocket scientist, but when a game is downloaded, you don't have/need a disc! I have cleared out its data and re-downloaded it to get
    the same result over and over. Any ideas?

    I get disc read error 62- haven't played it in over a month. It just goes to that planet screen the goes black then the error message.

    This console is just a pain in the butt to deal with. So many problems...

    Been through 4 now and looks like this one doesn't work now. If their product worked correctly, none of us would even be on these forums- all they do is tell you to hard restart everytime- why must you constantly do this? Because the system doesn't work
    correctly. Even if you do an advanced exchange- they send you another one but its still gonna have the same issues. Basically, they said this was the latest and greatest when in fact this will probably be their downfall. This should have been first a game
    console then add the other aspects- not worry about everything else and hope the games work too.

    Hi,

    The system software (also known as the 'operating system') is somewhat limited on the 360. With read errors, It will report the same error regardless if the game is a download or being read from a game disc.

    It means either the download is corrupt, or the 360 hard drive is failing.

    Delete your profile and the digital game from the console and clear your console cache three times in a row:

    support.xbox.com/.../clear-system-cache

    After this download your profile again in the console and and your digital game from the download history.
