Disc or Digital Games, Which Downloads Faster

I'm getting an Xbox One this Christmas and I'll have multiple games, both disc and digital, to download onto it. I want to know which kind of game will download fastest so I'll have something to play while I'm waiting for the other games to download.

I am planning to buy all discs unless something is a digital only download.

I can sell or trade them if I wanted, they would be faster to fully install and I like looking at the box artwork and hopefully have a manual as some of the games seem complex.

2 options mate, you can buy the disc. Which will download a digital version onto your Xbox, although you will still need the disc in to play. Or you can buy the games from Xbox.com

 

Depends, disc will install faster, but only if you go into offline mode, otherwise the Xbox will try to download patches before installing the disc, and games this generation have really big updates, I thin Halo:MCC had like a 15gb day one patch.

And with downloading, I don't find it too bad because you can play other games or do something else while it's downloading unlike the 360, I normally see my Xbox downloading at about 35mbps. And i f you're getting it for Christmas, prepare yourself, things
might get bad because of all of the gamers getting their console on Christmas as well, and last year there was the DDoS attack that took down Live for a few hours.

 

Depends how fast your Internet is.

 

Say I have a wired connection and I want to download a digital version of Halo 5 or Tomb Raider and a disc version of Batman Arkham Knight or Fallout 4. Does that change anything? Does it all just depend on game size?

 

Wired is better than wireless generally but it's more the service you're getting from your provider that matters

 

Disc is faster.

Disconnect from the internet, install the disc, then connect and start it. You'll be prompted to download any patches.

Digital requires you to download the entire game before you install patches so it takes longer.

 

There is no need to disconnect from the internet anymore. When installing from disc, a prompt will state there is a update and ask if you want to install it or postpone. Of course postpone until the disc installs, then take the update; at least if you want
to stay online. Lol.
